He meant Sindhu ancestry, people get confused from time to time. Hindu is bastardization of Sindhu word, and is reserved for ganga hindus.

@Multani right bro?
He said Pakistanis are proud that they left Hinduism. Go read his post.

People get confused and typos. Thats how "hindu" word was invented to begin with. Learn some history little men.

yes most Pakistanis have local Sindhu ancestry.

Good for you. Atlest you are accepting that you guys have Hindu ancestry. I appreciate it. May be you could have Chandragupta Morya as first Pakistani instead of Bin Qasim?

You are mixing race with religion. Our ancestry is mostly of the Indus civilization. One of the religions followed here was hinduism, which is a world religion today. Mohammad Bin Qasim is a hero for Muslims based on religious convictions. Not gupta morya, he could be for orissa.

Hinduism is not a race. It is a world religion.

I am not talking about race either. Sorry if you thought that. I am talking about the religion. BTW which religion Indus people used to follow?

Which were the other religions?

That's the point you see. You change heroes with your religion. The one who invaded your land killed many of your forefathers, has become a hero. If you convert to Christianity tomorrow, then the first Pakistani will be Prince Charles i guess.

May be you should ask Multani what he meant, instead of eating my brains buddy.

They followed religions like Budhism, hinduism, zoroastrianism, shamanism, and other religions like that followed by the minorities like the chitralis today.

Mohammad bin Qasim didn't kill the forefathers of Punjabis, Kashmiris or even Sindhis and Baloch. This is exaggeration. He fought a local king in Sindh / Gujarat and defeated him. He conquered that king's territory in Sindh. The local people still followed the local religions. Local kings in Sindh used to defeat and fight each other all the time. But now a foreginer Arab Muslim defeated the most powerful of them. Mohammad bin Qasim established the Islamic religion in Sindh. And he was a pious Muslim and followed the Zuhud way [ Ascetic way - in other words Junaydi Sufism ]

Gupta Maurya has very little relevance for Indus people. I think Gupta Maurya grandson Ashoka was more busy killing hundreds of thousands in Kalinga [ Orissa ] and spreading budhism by force over there. Pakistani Muslims do revere non-Muslim personalities as heroes. For example Alexander the Great, who was a just king. If Gupta Maurya was a just king ruling over the Indus area, then it would have been highly possible that he would also have been celebrated as a just man like Alexander the Great.

What?! Please read more on Budhism.

Budha -whose full name is Gautam Budha(Should give you a hint) was born in Eastern India bordering Nepal.
Budha was Indian, as Mohammad and Jesus were Arabs.

Yep thats called 'tibet'.

I think Pakistanis should also learn about the Mauraya Empire which liberated them from oppressive Greek rule.

This is the weirdest dick measuring contest I've ever seen!!!

How exactly is owning the past going to improve your future??
Religion is man made and most members here fall in the trap that religion sets hook, line and sink! Pity!

@acetophenol well said!

@Aeronaut - Please check again.

Gautaum Budha was born in Shakya kingdom - which spanned UP, Bihar and Nepal. Not Tibet.
If you are intent on calling UP and Bihar as Tibet then I cant help you.

The capital of the Shakya Kindgdom was on the current UP-Nepal border.

Tibet is not even in the picture unless you want to force it in somehow.

Then the second part - Budha achieved enlightenment and started Budhism in Bihar.

I know you would like to think that Budha and Budhism are not Indian, Aero, but there really is no escaping it here.
I gave you an analogy to understand - Budha is as Indian and Budhism is as Indian as Muhammad is an Arab and Islam was founded in Arabia.
