Buddhas was born in Nepal though.
Who cares at which place Buddha's mom went into labour :D

Buddhism was born in India and thats what matters.
If it weren't for Indians who embraced his teachings and spread it everywhere, Buddha would have died a lonely hermit.

The tree under which Gautam or Siddhartha achieved enlightenment is in Gaya.

Can't help it. It's a fate you are born into. :sarcastic:

Not really, you are just insulting Pakistanis on PDF and mods are watching it. Call Bengalis as Indians and give them nationality.

@Aeronaut this guy deserve a infraction.

That I do not dispute that much of Buddhism traditions began in modern day India before spreading out but he was born in Nepal, give that to the Nepalis they are rather offended if someone says otherwise. :sarcastic:

How is Buddha's birthplace relevant to Buddhism ?
Satya Nadella being born in Hyderabad does not make Microsoft an Indian company.

It's not an insult, but rather a historical legacy shared by us all. It's only you who has a problem with accepting history for what it is and is trying to call the Buddha as RigVedic Pakistani, Buddhist Pakistani and what not.

It isn't necessarily relevant to Buddhism but it is relative to history, contrarian said he was born in Eastern India and most sources say that is incorrect so I was just correcting him.

Borders are always in flux.
What is Nepal now was India once and may again be in future or vice-versa.

Your subsequent comments are all troll posts. :sarcastic:

More like reasoning with a troll in his own language. Padmasambhava is amongst the most important Rinpoches in Buddhism, but his elevation to the title of second Buddha is not recognised by all Buddhists. As I explained before, it's like believing that the Ahmadiya version of Islam is the Gold-standard followed by all Muslims. Interpretations vary with sects.

Afaik I know Nepal has always been considered a neighboring country by the rest of the subcontinent. Even the guptas described them as a neighbor.

Not a good comparison.
