The thing is no Muslim state is perfect. Each muslim state has its problems.
@t topic. Afghanistan has always viewed Pakistan as a rival. I have been to all sorts of forums and the hatred exhibited by the Afghans may perhaps even be more severe than our eastern neighbors. There are apologists of Afghans like
@Samandri but I believe Pakistani concerns are genuine and unless addressed our draconian policies to helpless refugees are if not ufully nderstandable then slightly understandable.
When Pakistan was formed Afghanistan did not accept it as a state. Liaquat Ali Khan was shot dead by an Afghan about whom only shadowy details are available. Afghanistan opposed Pakistan's inclusion in UN. Zahir Shah was an instigator and supported Faqir of Ipi inspiring him to continue fighting Pakistan and did not accept the Durand line as the defacto border. Daoud Khan went further and launched border raids tried to take Bajaur with his ragtag militias. If Afghanistan is no threat to us then why did we days ago catch an Afghan spy after we caught Yadav. Media sources I know believe both may be linked. Samandri why should we trust these Afghans after the way they treat us?
The division between Pakistani Pashtun and Afghan Pashtun began the very day Abdur Rehman Khan accepted the Durand line and subsequent leaders refused to support any of the native uprisings from Palay Khan. The fate of Pakistan was sealed since then to be seperate from Afghanistan. Dreaming of a larger Afghanistan as it was under Ahmed Shah Duranni and Nadir Shah will not solve anything. The very issue is that the Afghans do not accept our land as ours and that is one of the fundamental problems, poisoning relations for generations. Afghans and Pakistanis need to sit together and think about the direction they are taking.
