Has pakistan made a mistake by retaliating?

STFU Indian beggar. You don’t belong on this forum.

Assam hates you just like Kashmiris hate you. All you do is rape. Naxalites are killing Indian soldiers like they are having a field day.
Assam cared little for Pakistan, but you are making it sure that we do.

All i hear is bla bla bla bla bla bala blaba bla bla bla.

All these Indian beggars have to log into a Pakistani defence forum to act tough LMAO

That is how desperate and shameful they are.

STFU. The world knows how Indian soldiers get butchered by Naxalite freedom fighters.

Defeat accepted in the skirmish.

That wasn't the point of the post though. It's about what could have happened if the pilot wasn't returned so quickly and what could happen next.

If you think this is over, it really isn't mate.

Valid point. But its not over for Pakistan either. There will be a response each and every time and the reality is that India has no ability to control the escalatory ladder once it pushes. India did have plans to conduct more strikes after the downing of the Indian aircrafts, yet Pakistan's communication was that anything else would result in a pretty significant increase in our response. Had Pakistan's response been executed in the face of more Indian strikes after the shooting down of IAF aircraft, neither sides would have been able to halt the events.

India can perhaps think that it has crossed a line and can do it again. Pakistan's response is already being calibrated as we discuss this and it too has other options. Lastly, a temporarily bad economy is hardly a thing that holds back nations from going to war. A bad economy may push the country to go into the hole fiscally, but it does not play a deciding role in getting hostilities going. You worry about the impact on the economy later.

First we will avenge the attack at Gwadar. We are not done with you. It will an eye for an eye. You will see.
Do what you have to do, and we will too. Before that revisit your history books to learn what we did with your Mughal ancestors.

.
they have created a serious enmity by downing the jet and the show of the pilot that followed.
Come on? As if we did not already have enimity? We have had wars. And once India crossed the LOC no PM in Pakistan could ignore this. PMIK said that if India does anything they will have no choice but to retaliate. And sure he did as promised.

The same as happened with Kul Bhasan.. At max you would have gone crying to ICJ..

I heard India is still begging in front of the courts for the release of their little terrorist.

LOL you are probably also a seed of the Mughals. Stop hating yourself.

When are you going to destroy Mughal Taj Mahal? Or was it built by Modi?

No, we in Assam took immense pride in showing your Mughals their real place. Making them beg for their silly existence and kicking them off our lands.

The escalatory ladder will eventually lead to a full scale war and in that situation the scales are decidedly tipped in India's favour as far as conventional strength in concerned. Pakistan can win a skirmish here or there by downing a 2nd generation fighter but winning a full scale war against India is a whole different ball game as has been poven in previous wars.

Winning a skirmish is like winning a T 20 match. Even a weak team like West Indies can manage it. But we all know what happens to the Windies in ODIs and Tests. Completely different ball game.

.
Only because of the super quick return of the pilot. India's reaction to 27th Feb would have been very different otherwise.

No, by international law Pakistan had to return the pilot by seven days, a couple made no difference. Pakistan was fully prepared for upping the ante, India wasn't when it lost the air engagement.

No. Kulbhushan was not captured as a result of a Pakistani attack on Indian soil. He is allegedly a spy who was captured.

Abhi's capture was a result of a Pakistani attack on the Indian side of the LoC. The reaction would have been very very different and it would have been violent, had Abhi not been returned so quickly.

Actually every single previous war has proven that Pakistani defenses are not brittle and have held up to Indian advances. This is also the reason that every war on our eastern/your western borders has resulted in a stalemate.
India does not have the preponderance in manpower or material ratio that is needed to play out the outcome of a test match as you say and this is speaking of things conventionally.

No, Pakistan did not need to return him in 7 or 21 days because he was not a prisoner of war because there was no formal declaration of war from either side. So it was Pakistan's kindness to release the spent and useless pilot who divulged everything he knew. IAF changed all codes of fleet after he reached India and got interrogated by them.
