iran was never the ally of syria... or anyone, in fact.... syria is a socialist society administered by the arab baath socialist movement... iran is a strange society administered by mullahs... so there is nothing to feel betrayed about as there never was any true friendship.

so why the surprise??

and iran will never attack the western bloc militaries ( nato )... iran, like@suparco says, indulges only in show chest-thumping.

Iran is syrias ally they had been but I dont know if they will be.. but be sure they had been allies I give you one excample that shows you what kind of ally: they made the religios way open to make them ally.. that means they first did not accept alawies as shia then they give fatwa that they are shia and so they made the way open to have them as ally.. never saw a lebanese shia or iranian shia how they love assad, for me it was like a action movie

so you really believe the war in syria to be a sectarian conflict?? you must know that majority of syrians want syria to remain baathi... you may know that majority of the 150,000+ syrians already murdered by nato proxies were sunni or christian... you may know the religious composition of the syrian arab army... you may know that bashar al assad's wife is sunni... you may know that syria's palestinian enemies ( like hamas ) are funded and armed by shia-ruled iran...
