Gaddafi was the same. One time arch-enemy of the West then friend etc.
friend?? hardly...
the battle of sirte has been described as modern-day stalingrad, with months of nato air bombardment and ground bombardment by nato puppets ( taliban/ikhwaan/al-qaeda etc )...

First pan-Arab then Pan-African (King of Africa etc. nonsense) etc.
No offense but Gaddafi was a madman.
from ( Mandela and Gaddafi: the myth of the Saint and the Mad Dog - English pravda.ru )...
"Right upon his release from prison, after more than 27 years behind bars, Mandela broke the UN embargo and paid a visit to the Libyan capital of Tripoli, where he declared: "My delegation and I are overjoyed with the invitation from the Brother Guide [Muammar Gaddafi], to visit the Great Popular and Socialist Arab Libyan Jamahiriya."
muammar gaddafi was pan-humanity socialist... supporting from eta to pflp to farc to anc...

humanity needs one or two more "mad man" like muammar gaddafi... you could call elon musk as one, as to another...
The only socialist country that I respect (which is not fully socialist anyway) is Venezuela.
Gadhafi's friend to the death, Chavez calls Libyan leader 'a martyr' - CNN.com
venezuela form of "direct democracy" ( First National Commune Conference: The Communes are the Antidote to Venezuela’s Economic Problems | venezuelanalysis.com )... an idea which is also the basis of jamahiriya political theory.
China is not really socialist either. It's a fully capitalist country more or less.
though chinese people will soon regret the fever of capitalism they had diseased themselves with, there is still the communist party to balance it and bring china back to senses... china must get involved in supporting socialist societies which are under invasions or under threat of.

hope you see the progress human-wide socialism will bring... and yes, it is inevitable... ( http://www.kcna.co.jp/item/2012/201211/news11/20121111-05ee.html ).
