On the contrary Russian tanks were vastly superior to the Germans (sloped armor and firepower). Look up T-34 and KV-1 vs Pz-III,IV. That led to the development of Panthers and Tigers.

Nope. Russians had hired an American designer who had incorporated the sloped armor design as early as 1939-40. Germans were shell shocked on coming face to face with T-34, KV-1's . And Mother Russia is soooooooo huge she would have survived without American aid. They relocated their factories to the Caucasus far out of range of German Bombers.
