ok, agreed. Sale is a sale. Go and sale maore and more and be happy
Good news indeed...
The Chile deal would have gone to HAL had it not been Uncle Sam's arm twisting.
Quite right, but now they twist the arm of Peru to compensate the earlier arm twisting of yours
IMO, it is unfair to complain US any more on sour Chilean wine.
We don't have much influence over Peru; so how will we arm-twist them?
We ain't complaining any more; I'm contending people's assertion that Dhruv is a failure.
Yeah Keyser, whatever floats your boat eh?
Sorry for being slight adrift, but I must thank you for this great found, it may have been very popular in UK but honestly was not known to me. At the end there are more videos from similar characters.

Those could be the indians born in foreign lands who are much better than their counterparts in homeland.
I guess the assertions that the Dhruv lost orders because of "arm twisting" are speculation too. And the product was imply not good enough.
I am sure Peru would love both of the helicopters as much as the Nepalese did.
Keysersoze said:I want to share a little story with you guys........
There is a program over here which sums up the kind of attitude some of you guys here...I have gotten really bored with some of the self aggrandizements you guys post.
Simple fact is that BELL helicopters have sold more helicopters to private concerns in India than You have sold in the rest of the world. (I tried to find the total sales but it was taking too long) but 24 helicopters to a Mumbai company
EADS sold 802 helicopters in 2007 alone
Sikorsky have many many more......
You know the Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm, designed
Israeli avionics fitted
British engine "The TM 333 2B2 is the sole production engine used on the Dhruv."
Helicopter.
With the above being said
Watch this to see the kind of mentality you guys seem to portray.
YouTube - Goodness Gracious Me - art is Indian!
Bell Helicopter - News: Global Vectra Helicorp Orders Two Bell 412s
One last thing.....one of you guys have countered my argument that the armed service would kick up a stink if they were given a substandard product.I guess that explains why they are fighting the induction (or only inducting a handfull) of many other products.
God you guys don't give up do you? You keep going around shouting "IT'S INDIAN" with all your might, desperately trying to score points on a Pakistani website.
I have been here two years and I have gotten used to a few things. Indian members have become very agile at explaining failures. And passing off small things and monumental things when they are not.
YOu have sold how many? How many have crashed? Stop passing off mediocrity as a huge acheivement. I for one and not gonna be amused by you guys blowing sunshine up each others ***** and coming rolling in.
So far the only thing thats working for India is to call something joint venture (Where the other guy does all the work and then you paint the Indian flag on the side)
I point out again.
German design
British engine
Israeli avionics
Italian gun system
Indian paint
9 helicopters sold..........
I look forward to you guys posting a thread explaining how the TATA NANO can beat a Ferrari
Let the games begin I can hear you all itching to write some instant damning reply..
I"m sorry but what do you think this is? Some sort of personal feud between you and the Indian members here?
India clinches first foreign deal with Ecuador to sell Dhruv
New Delhi, June 25: India on Wednesday made aviation history by concluding a USD 51 million deal with the South American Republic of Ecuador for the sale of seven 'Dhruv' advanced light helicopters (ALH).
The deal signed between Ecuador Aviation Authority and bluechip state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) envisages the supply of seven helicopters in semi knock-down conditions to the republic in a time-frame of 15 months to two years, Defence Ministry officials said.
With this, India has joined a select group of nations with a capability to bid for international contracts for choppers. So far, the helicopter market has been dominated by US, European companies and Russia.
The ALH 'Dhruv' has been making waves in international air shows world over from the past two years but international sales of the helicopter have eluded HAL.
HAL came very near bagging its first international order when it bid for the Chilean armed forces contract two years ago, but was beaten to the closing line by the US competitors.
But now Dhruv, which has already been inducted into Indian armed forces, has beaten off competition from four leading companies for the Ecuador order, including the European major- Eurocopter. HAL recently started the process of weaponising 'Dhruv' for use by the Indian armed forces.
HAL will be supplying ALH to Ecuador in partnership with Israeli aircraft company Israeli Aviation Industries (IAI). It has earlier supplied one helicopter to that country, as part of efforts to sell the chopper worldwide in partnership with Tel Aviv.
The Bangalore-based company recently announced a Rs 10,000 crore capital infusion to boost up its helicopter division.
Besides Ecuador, ALH is also bidding for international sales to Turkey, Peru, Malaysia, Indonesia and others.
