not so fast no foreign military is allowed in our territory , Indian presence in Chabahar is only for economic purposes and no Indian navy will be allowed to have a base in Chabahar as it is against our constitution.

This is not about war and Military presence, this is about continuous oil supply, In case of blockade Iran port can be used by Indians.

the important point is why we must support a faction with a pointless war advocated by some armchair General. if all the potential of trade with central Asia get tapped we need more port like Gwaddar and Chabahar for that there is no need for any competition between those two port. even the route in Iran and Pakistan are not enough for that and we must increase their capacities .

This is the way to go. Mindless arguments of naval presence in X-port or, Y-Port is not going to solve anything. Even if China gets a naval base in Gwadar, why should India try for something like this in Chahbahar and why will Iran allow that.. Chahbahar is required for India to trade with Iran-Afghanistan- CARs since same can not be done through Pakistan..
Lets just do business right now and coming saner generations will take care of all these useless issues.

Not really... India is not the dominant force in IOR. A bigger Gorilla ( USN ) is in the room. USN is and will be the most dominant force anywhere in the world for coming few decades.

Get real. Iran shares no border with India, and unless Pakistan allows land transit to Iran, India will remain a far away ally of Iran.

I should make it clear, that the Gwadar naval base will be owned and operated by Pakistan Navy with PLN having 'permanent rotation rights'. Pakistan would have the option to sum,on PLN in case of a conflict.
