Gripen for Bangladesh?

They are relying on Chinese money from transit and buying of their natural resources.
In effect, they are China's whore.
Oil and gas prices are on downward trend. May come down to 10-20 dollar by 2025. It will not help them much unless they develop a knowledge based economy. Looking at their iq which seems unlikely.

They can try developing their farming sector. China has huge demand and they have a lot of land to grow crops and rear animals.

BD made offers to build hydroelectric power plants and grow crops and rear animals, which would all be exported back to the fast growing BD market but they prefer to be China's whore.:cheesy:

I am glad that oil prices are really coming down and will hurt Myanmar to the worst. It has already started selling out other key sectors to foreign companies(in the name of FDI) and at the end of the day will get stuck in middle income trap when those investment gets matured.

PS: China offered them only 15% in rakhine port. The entire pipeline will not even genrate 100 million. This is only the China story. The Thai story even more scary.
Not sure about the Indians. I guess they are getting everything free.. by threatening them against China sell out. ;)

Compared to Myanmar obviously yes.
Stop behaving like a clown with a nation of only 15.22 billion dollar budget where Bangladesh gets same amount just from remittance.

No wonder HDI of Myanmar is low as well compared to Bangladesh, it is evident looking at your iq.

Yes. I agreed. BD has got the higher HDI than MM.

Who says that primitive Barmans will even reach middle-income?

Free money is a very bad thing. In short term it gives some cash but in long term it creates trouble when the money runs out. How much Myanmar earn or expecting to earn from farming and agriculture any idea?

Their best bet would have been to allow the building of hydroelectric power plants in Arakan and set the whole region as a farming area to feed the huge and fast growing BD market. This would have netted them maybe 10 billion dollar or so a year in revenue.

This way they could have negotiated a much better deal with China for their oil + gas pipelines and other resources. They did not want to deal with BD as they are racists and bigots who just want to cleanse the Rohingya from Myanmar and also because they want to hold back BD growth due to jealousy and fear.

lol i'm not saying Myanmar is rich. but just told @Nilgiri to brace ourselves for the repeated words of BD guys which is always compared with Myanmar like 'BD is rich blah blah BD' gdp is 3.5time higher blah blah' lol :P we already knew that u guys always end up those words if someone said that was impossible. now again 'national budget is $50B blah blah'.. wait who ask u about that ? and why u are trying to explain about that ? silly guys. :P the people who think they are very rich and always talk about money in here are just u. not us.

lol it's not Myanmar's concern. Myanmar oil export is not that much. we already reduced the exporting ratio and most will be used in local in future. lol our people can use in cheaper price. it will even help to grow Myanmar economy.

learn more about the deal. lol it's 30% in last deal. according to Chinese side , they are not limited the share %. it's just depend on Myanmar budget allocation for this project which is US$ 16B in total.
The entire pipeline will not even genrate 100 million.
it's sure u dont know nothing about this project. Myanmar got project share + transit fee +extra crude oil and gas. lol

It's gas pipeline, not oil. And the gas will be pumped from the nearby Shwe Gas field, which means you will be transferring your own gas to China, what's this extra you are talking about???

Correct. Let us see Myanmar exports for 2016:

https://atlas.media.mit.edu/en/profile/country/mmr/

1. Gas 3.17 US billion
2. Dried legumes 1.39 US billion
3. Raw Sugar 1.07 US billion
4. Non-knit Suits 0.577 US billion
5. Rice 0.438 US billion

Man you Barmans are completely backward!

That report is BS.

India is buying the Rafale that comes with AESA for around 85 million US dollars a piece. Rafale would be more costly due to the fact that it is a twin-engine fighter and hence has much better weapons and range.

Gripen's selling point over Rafale is that it is a lot less costly!

The Rafale price to India is much higher than that.
Sweden will pay $72M for their Gripen E.
Denmark was quoted $64M IIRC.
Pricing varies depending on dollar rates vs the Krona.
The Big question is if Bangla Desh will get approval to buy.

Maybe Brazil could sell it?
