Yaar there is a difference between the marketed Gandhi and the real Gandhi. We don't doubt that the world knows Gandhi as a humble, saint. All we're saying is "hey have a look at this too".

It's easy to portrait bad image of anything. Some people seeing this, will try to portrait bad picture of even Mr. Jinnah. But its again shame to do that whoever do this.

btw the video does not say Gandhi wasn't great or that he didn't do great things.. they just have a grudge against the word Mahatma which I do as well.. since i don't consider people to be 'Saints' as no such person exists going by human logic

A balanced evaluation is always good; but I am amused by the reaction of people here; not least the attempts to show Mahatma Gandhi in a bad light.

Gandhi was a great man, who had his foibles; the definition of greatness does not preclude weaknesses.

Mother Teresa lost her faith for years. Churchill was a drunk. Lincoln once castigated black people as being more trouble than they were worth. Someone's already mentioned Jinnah. I could go on.

One last word - people who critique Gandhi are usually not worth a hundredth part of who the man was, nor will accomplish a thousandth part of what that man did.

Infact Gandhi was hated by some cults and freedom fighter in India .. RSS wanted to take a revenge from him, a Hindu killed him. Because he let Jinnah make pakistan, and also donate 50 Lac rupees to pakistan to start the Nation. To which almost all then Political class were reluctant with. Only India had Army in 1947, Gandhi was also part of negotiation for the Map of pakistan.. you guys will not know what he did for the subcontinent then... atleast we are in relative peace today... else British india could have broken down into many countries.,

Well its easy to critise, but people easily forget, if it wasnt for the effort for these great men, we wouldnt be breathing freely. I havent seen the post fully, but i yes i do believe, the old man who had reacehed his prime, devoid of any personal agenda the man with dothi clad around him, is an ultimate symbol of peace. I don't care if any cigar smoking western dressed guys ditched him for their own personal agenda, but i still consider him as a great man, just because the way he lived his life and the way he preached non violence. Whatever his critisiers have to say, he did play an important role in both our countries freedom, which i guess have been erased convineintly from the history books of pakistan, this is so sad man, a generaion so grown up with hate, even is not ready to accept the contributions of a gr8 man who fought for the freedom of their own people when there was no pakistan or hindus, just india ruled by british.
