They have lived in a limited mountainous region for thousands for years so obviously they will look unique. Looks like at one time these people were far spread. The times have changed for the worse for these people.

The Kalash are native to the region. The Greek theory is based on nothing but myth and false propaganda by nationalist Greeks.



Kalasha are genetically unique due to their remote location but they still share close resemblance with Nuristani people.

Their location already protects them .. There is no extremist threat in chitral region also Chitral scouts/Paramilitary is already there.

The number is less not because they have been forced to leave but the new generation is moving to cities n other social factors .... Which the Kalash elders/ppl complain themselves...

They have military protection just in case some TTP thug want to convert them by force. Musharaf also banned any Tablighi jamat going there to convert by peace full means. Though one can't stop them from converting, many Kalash people have left for cities and converted to Islam by choice.

Then Pak govt must start measures with UNESCO to protect that culture at any cost.Gave more economic opportunities in their own area.Stop them from leaving their own culture.Enhance tourism and increase infrastructure.Explore measures for giving incentives to that people for protecting their culture.If Pak govt face financial difficulties UN will surely help them.Paying incentives for less than 3000 people is not that bad.
