I hear that Romanian GDP grew only 0.7% last year whereas Bangladesh did 6.3%.

Very much look forward to catching up to and surpassing Romanian GDP sometime this decade

The government budget for this year is set at 28 billion US dollars.

BD does not have the advantage of billions of Euros in EU subsidies so it says something about the country when it can progress at the rate it is doing now.

150 million people in a landmass the size of England will take some time to get to even middle-income levels. However the upside is that the country has the chance to become more than a tiny pawn in the hands of much larger powers if it keeps in the current path it is following. This is a choice that tiny countries like Romania do not have.

If you would do a little research you will see that we didn't get billions from the EU,true they gave them to us but our politicians are retards who couldn't use them so they took the money back,better said,most of them.We barely spend 8-9% of funds in the 2007-2014 period.This year Romania's economy will grow by 2% ,next year more and the new goverment prooves that it can absorb the EU funds better so from next year some 20-25 billion free money will enter the economy in the 2014-2020 period.

If,if,if...let's see about if,Romania is just fine and within the EU the decisions are and will be taken through the EU parliament in which Romania as the 7th largest member has a say.Numbers of Parliament members are distributed by the size of countries.
