lets not get into the same old discussion of which talibans are we maintainin contacts with and which not..... to us not all talibans are the same. even US has started using the term of good taliban and bad taliban. the only problem is that those who are gud for us are bad for them and those who are bad for us are gud for them. its a clash of interest but still we are cooperating on God knows wat. now ISI will obviously look after pakistan's interest and not america's. wouldnt u agree with me on this one or should ISI look after america's interest first and then pakistans?

The leader of Pakistan's Taliban has claimed responsibility for an attack on a police academy in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore.

Baitullah Mehsud said on Tuesday that his group carried out the attack, which left at least eight policemen dead, and vowed to launch an attack on Washington DC, in the US.

"Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world," The Associated Press reported Mehsud as saying.

A report from the Reuters news agency quoted Mehsud as saying: "We wholeheartedly take responsibility for this [the Lahore] attack and will carry out more such attacks in future."

He said the attack on Monday was "revenge for the [suspected US] drone attacks in Pakistan".

TANK: Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Baitullah Mehsud on Tuesday claimed responsibility for the attack on the police training academy in Manwan and said his militant group will ‘expedite such assaults.’

Mehsud contacted correspondents by phone from an undisclosed location and said that his group had carried out attack on Monday morning.

‘We accept responsibility for the assault on the training centre in Manawan,’ said the head of the banned TTP.

He added that President Zardari was ‘following US policies and allowing drone attacks’ and vowed that the Taliban movement will expedite similar activities unless missile attacks are halted.

Usually, Mehsud’s spokesman Maulvi Omar speaks to the media and issues statements on his behalf, but this time Mehsud spoke to the media and claimed responsibility for the brazen attack.

The militant chief also owned up to carrying out a suicide attack at a Police Special Branch in Islamabad on March 23 and a roadside bomb explosion in Bannu on Monday. Seven people including five soldiers were killed in the explosion. However, he denied any involvement in the bombing at a mosque in Khyber tribal region in which 57 people were killed.

Mehsud said that these attacks have been carried out in reaction to the increase in number of drone attacks inside Pakistani territory,

The US State Department put Baitullah Mehsud on its most wanted list on March 25 and announced a $5mn bounty for capturing him.

Baitullah Mehsud is the second Pakistani be have been put on a wanted list by the US government after Mir Aimal Kasi, an inhabitant of Balochistan province.

Earlier the TTP chief was declared absconder by local courts in the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Mehsud said he was not bothered about the reward on his head, saying ‘martyrdom is my mission and it will be a great honour if I achieve it.’

‘The enemies should not ignore might of the Taliban and they will suffer in Washington when we target the White House,’ he warned. He claimed the Taliban have the ability to carry out attacks in the US capital.

Mehsud vowed to continue attacks against NATO forces in Afghanistan, for which, Taliban groups in North and South Waziristan had formed joint Shoora committees to continue their struggle in Afghanistan.

When asked if his men were behind the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, the TTP chief did not give a clear reply.

‘I have yet to establish contact with the people and they (the people) not reached their destination,’ he said.

I have as yet to see any evidence of suicide cadres being successfully raised in India and deployed to systematically target Pakistan as part of foreign policy (overt or covert).

Col. Purohit is the only man on that list who was through Indian investigative efforts found to be linked to a terrorist attack/mass murder. The groups that he was working with in the outskirts of Pune and elsewhere were cracked down upon, and he is currently languishing in jail (where he belongs).

As I know media have associated many faces with the name of B.Mehsud, but your question stand valid...How to identify the reall one?
May be non of three was B. Mehsud.







BTW, govt. of Pakistan has once again down played the discoveries from Jammrud mosque attack and not even RAW attempted to associate this particular attack to TTP!

RAW is hard line hindu organisation and have history of genocide of minorities of their own country.
Where as ISI is professional organisation and have never killed hindus of Pakistan.

RAW is a governmental organistaion and NOT a religious group. And also if you want to arm proxies in a country to foment trouble there and keep your hand out of picture you definitely wont give armament with your country markings on them. Usually India would ideally have provided weapons with maybe for example US markings etc.

If you have even 2% idea on how Intelligence agencies work, then you will understand what I mean.
