Political Agent sees foreign hands behind Jamrud mosque blast

PESHAWAR, Mar 30 (APP): The political administration of Khyber agency while holding neighboring country responsible for the Jamrud suicide blast and other terrorist activities have said that foreign countries were providing financial and logistic support to local militants.
Addressing a press conference at Frontier Corps Forte at Jamrud on Monday, Political Agent Khyber Agency Tariq Hayat Khan and Brigadier Frontier Corps Fayaz briefed mediapersons about the Jamrud operation and the current situation in the area.

On this occasion, the heavy and small arms recovered from the militants, light artillery, mortar guns, huge cache of hashish and explosive material with an Indian Insignia was put on display.

Apart from displaying Indian origin explosive material and 30 tons hashish besides exhibiting light machine guns, light artillery, kalashnikoves, kalakoves, rocket launchers, mortar guns, cartridges and shells.

According to the officials, the operation would continue till the last militant and anti‑state elements were flushed out of the area adding that the security personnel were equipped with all types of weapons.

During the operation 39 saboteurs were apprehended and many houses were razed to ground.

PA Khyber Agency Tariq Hayat said that the operation was launched for the stability and protection of country and vowed that it would continue till the objective was achieved.

He asked the militants to lay down arms or fight openly adding that the militants were supported by neighboring country and they were being used for their vested interest and were taking the country towards destruction.

“The weapons taken from their custody was clear evidence of the fact that these militants were working for foreign elements”, he added.

Tariq Hayat said that some important militants were arrested by security forces and investigation was underway. However, he added that nothing could be said about these suspected elements at this stage as this was premature and could effect the operation.

He told media men that according to the report of the laboratory experts and other investigation agencies it was a suicide attack wherein 56 people were killed.

Moreover, he vowed to take revenge for the martyrs of Jamrud Mosque saying that it was the worst example of barbarism and cruelty wherein innocent people were targeted.

According to the investigation of our technical experts, the incident was planned by Taliban and the neighboring country was its perpetrator, he informed.

Tariq Hayat said that the administration have evidence about the suspected perpetrators of Jamrud suicide blast adding that unfortunately they were made puppets in foreign hands.

Brigadier Fayaz Qamar said that calls of Taliban commander Nazeer were tapped during which he inquired after the number of dead in the incident.

He said that the house of commander nazeer has been demolished and efforts were underway to arrest him.

Brig Fayaz said that Pak‑ Afghan road was completely safe for traveling adding the lives of innocent people were made safe due to this operation purging the area of suspected militants.

PESHAWAR: Security forces arrested dozens of militants from different parts of Khyber Agency and seized a cache of arms, and drugs from their possession.

Briefing the media here on Monday, Political Agent Tariq Hayat and FC Sector Command Brigadier Fayaz said that a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from various parts of agency during operation.

They said that the seized arms include 82 MM Mortar, two LPG, six Kalashnikovs, two guns, three rocket launchers, two 127 AA machineguns and two Indian made barrels.

Dozens of extremists were also arrested during the operation, they said.

I wonder why so far indians have not invented a new Islamist name which should have come forward to plead guilty!
Blaming this attack on TTP and LET may have changed their image as sharia compliant militants.

The following are major terrorist attacks in the South Asian countries in recent years:

March 27, 2009 (Pakistan):

A suicide bomb attack on a mosque northwestern Pakistan's Khyber tribal agency where hundreds of people gathered for prayers killed at least 50 people and injured more than 100.

March 3, 2009 (Pakistan):

A bus carrying Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked by gunmen on its way to Lahore, Pakistan for a match. At least seven personsincluding five policemen were killed and eight persons including six players were wounded.

Feb. 9, 2009 (Sri Lanka):

A female suicide bomber from the LTTE detonated explosives in a crowd of soldiers and refugees in northern Sri Lanka. Twenty-eight people including eight civilians were reportedly killed and at least 90 others were wounded.

Nov. 26 - 29, 2008 (India):

Armed terrorists opened fire at eight different sites in a coordinated attack in Mumbai. They wielded automatic weapons and attacked locations including a train station, hotels, restaurants, a police station, and a hospital. 173 were confirmed dead and more than 300 were wounded.

Oct. 30, 2008 (India):

A series of 13 blasts occurred in and around Guwahati in the northeastern state of Assam, killing at least 70 and wounding more than 300.

Sept. 20, 2008 (Pakistan):

A dump truck filled with explosives detonated in front of the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, killing at least 54 including five foreigners, injuring at least 266.

Aug. 21, 2008 (Pakistan):

Two suicide bombers blew themselves up at the gates of the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in the high security cantonment town of Wah, around 30 km from capital Islamabad, killing at least 70 persons in what was described as the deadliest attack on a military installation in the history of Pakistan. The Tehrik-i- Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.

July 7, 2008 (Afghanistan):

A suicide bomber drove a car full of explosives into the gates of the Indian embassy in Kabul, killing 41 people and injuring 141.Five embassy personnel were killed - India's defense attaché, a senior diplomat and two security guards - as well as an Afghan man.

Dec. 27, 2007 (Pakistan):

Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was shot at after a political rally at a park in the eastern Pakistani city of Rawalpindi and a suicide bomb was detonated immediately following the shooting. She was declared dead at the Rawalpindi General Hospital. At least 23 other people were killed by the bombing.

Nov. 7, 2007 (Afghanistan):

A suicide bomb blast killed more than 100 people, including six parliamentarians in northern Afghan province of Baglan. Many school children were among the dead as they were welcoming parliamentarians at gate of a sugar factory.

Oct. 18, 2007 (Pakistan):

At least 139 people were killed and more than 387 wounded in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi in a suicide bombing near a motorcade carrying former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who returned to Pakistan earlier in the day after eight years of self-imposed exile.

Aug. 25, 2007 (India):

At least 42 people were killed and some 50 others injured in three explosions in the southern city of Hyderabad, India.

Aug. 21, 2004 (Bangladesh):

In Dhaka, more than 20 people were killed and hundreds of others injured in grenade attacks on a rally of the then opposition party Awami League led by Sheihk Hasina. Hasina, now the prime minister, narrowly survived in the attacks but her eyes and ear were injured.

I think it clearly hints that india is responsible for terrorising not only its neighbor states, and to build the ground work before offensive it faked a terror attack on its own soil.

I don't think it is a jaundiced view. People always look for the simplest explanations. In his mind India is a big bad enemy and stays in one place - easy to hate, easy to think of ways to fight. So it is easier to blame India for ills of Pakistan than to have a nuanced view of many hues of Taleban, groups that change names, alliances and location.

This is the sort of thing that brought Hitler to power. Start a riot, burn down the parliament and blame Jews for all ills of the society. People take the simplest explanation and attack Jews.

Same goes for all the conspiracy theories of the world - identify a single enemy you can hate and find a common thing that runs through all ills of society and people will follow you to ends of the world (Illuminati theories, UFO stories, Cognoscenti, KGB/Mossad stories etc. etc.) .

RAW has nothing to do with religion, it's external information gathering and do some dirty work on foreign soils. Are they involve in espionage work in side Pakistan, absolutley. But dont sit there that ISI is made of Angels and they dont carry dirty work in India. It's two way street. US has India have good relationship but there are CIA agents in India who are gathering info about the India's military and delivery systems. I wouldn't be surprise if KGB is in India as well.
