Z-9D Dauphin - Update

The new Z-9D 001 anti-ship variant prototype is shown here. Based on Z-9C, Z-9D has been modified to carry up to 4 ASMs under a pair of stub wings against small surface targets. The missile could be the TL-10B developed by Hongdu, which is a light, radar-guided anti-ship missile used against smaller FACs and gun boats (<1,000t). Its range is 15km, speed is Mach 0.85 and its warhead weighs 30kg. Z-9D has a fire-control radar installed in its nose and is thought to have all the ASW equipment removed. This anti-ship variant is expected to be stationed onboard smaller FFGs patrolling in the South China Sea.

Qing Class is Upgraded Version of Yuan Class.. Qing Class Is much greater as compared to Yuan class..

first of all finances is a huge issue. remember PN comes 3rd on the priority list when mil budget is allocated. having said that...

the 4th F-22 is being fitted for weapons, avionics and sensors.
two 500-600T FAC are under production.

as far as the Qing class subs and further purchase of larger FFG (+3.500T), the navy is currently in the 'negotiation' and finalization of requirements stage after the GoP approved the navy's RFI's. there are 'rumours' that the PN is also negotiating with the french to build a 4th agosta90B at karachi shipyards but i havnt been able to confirm this report from other sources within the PN.

Hmm, thanks for the news....but don't you think the fourth 90B would be waste of money? Unless it comes at less than 100 million $, we should save cash and get the 6 Qings floating...

Any one has any information about Type 54A Frigate when they would be transferred to PN on lease?
If agreement is signed then it would take only crew training time before handing over to PN.

Pakistan should acquire some Fighter bombers for Navy or maritime Strike fighter to enhance its Naval Air strike capability. Which Aircraft would be better for this role which is in Pakistans range.

Of course this is an area where PN lacks.We need fourth generation fighter plane to provide air cover / air defence to our ships.
Most better choice would be to try to get 30-40 french Rafel OR Chinese J11B.

JF-17 in the maritime strike role is planned with the C-802/803 ASM. it will be a 'dedicated' PAF squadron for PN missions.

Yes sir jee, well said....but even if they start building Agosta today, it will be good 3 years before it is commissioned....but i think i see where PN would be going with this.....4 Agostas and 6 Qings...for a fleet of 10 modern Subs.....all AIPs....

plus the 2 earlier agosta 70's which were upgraded and can fire the harpoons. so 12 boats is a strong sub force.
