Is it possible, that you merge this thread into the existing "Vietnam Military News & Discussion", and make it sticky?

China never asked for any Su-35 deal, you can promote your own weapons, but belittling other people is not a good business practice

Russia refuses to sell Su-35, S-400s to China

Moscow has often complained about how China reverse-engineers its defense articles to produce cheaper versions that then compete with it on the exports market

The Taiwanese air force will perhaps sigh in relief at the news that Russia is refusing to sell China Sukhoi Su-35 multirole aircraft — one of the world’s most advanced fighters — and top-of-the-line S-400 air defense systems over fears that Chinese engineers could eventually copy the technology.

The Russian-language Kommersant business newspaper reported earlier this year that Beijing last year had requested 48 Su-35s, valued at more than US$4 billion, as well as an unspecified number of S-400 systems.

With Taiwan already playing catch-up in the race for control of airspace in the Taiwan Strait, this development will provide relief, as the introduction of the Su-35 would have added to Taipei’s headaches.

Taipei Times,

Taipei Times = the voice of CPC???

Great logic my Russian friend. :disagree:

Here is the true voice of CPC. :coffee:

Pls help us to control Kra canal in Thailand,u and VN will earn a huge benefit from it :D

What for? Why Vietnam always looking for trouble?

Great Soviet helped VN to control Cambodia-Laos and assaulted Thailand from 1979 to 1988.So,it won't be our big problem to assault them to kick Chinese-Thai King's butt again. Both of us will surely gain a huge benefit there:D

Funny guy. In this day and age it won't happen. Are you proud of being the Soviet poodle and invading other Asian countries on her behalf? Name me one Euro country that would do Viets bidding and invade another white country for the sake of Vietnam? For this reason big brother China is needed to balance the arrogant Vietnamese.

Russia is now a paper tiger.

I have to disagree with you. Russian is a nuclear superpower not to be fk'ed with.

To be precise, the Thais helped other powers to invade other nations.

The Thai's were skilled diplomats.

@Evgeny
China is famous as copycat. Russia should never sell advanced weapons to them. Being friend today could be enemy tomorrow, see USSR-China and Japan-China relationship.

Copycat is good. If the technology and weaponry is good any country or human should adopt and learn the technology if it benefits.

There is no such thing as friends forever. Every country use each other for her convenience. Have a good look at the Great US of A. China and Russia are strategic partners more important than Vietnam-Russian in different aspects. China and Russian together is good balance to USA.

MOSCOW, March 6 2012 (RIA Novosti)

Russia and China may soon sign a $4-bln contract on the delivery of 48 Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker-E fighter jets to the Chinese air force, Russia’s Kommersant business daily said on Tuesday.
“The sides have practically agreed on the delivery of 48 Su-35 multirole fighters, worth $4 billion, to China,” Kommersant said citing a source in the Russian defense industry.
According to the paper, the only obstacle remaining is Moscow’s demand that Beijing should guarantee the protection of copyrights on the production of Su-35s without proper licensing.
“Moscow is not only aiming to ensure its presence on the Chinese [combat aircraft] market, but also attempting to prevent the potential copycat production of Russian aircraft for subsequent sales to third parties with predatory pricing,” a Russian government source told Kommesant.
China has a record of building advanced combat aircraft based on Russian and other foreign designs, and relied almost entirely on copies of Soviet designs until the Sino-Soviet split in 1960.
Chinese Chengdu J-10 fighter is based heavily on the cancelled Israeli Lavi fighter demonstrator, the Shenyang J-11 is a replica of the Su-30 Flanker-C, and the Chinese/Pakistani Chengdu FC-1 iuses Russian engines and other technology from the MiG-29. The J-15 is a Chinese-built derivate of the Sukhoi T-10K-3, a carrier-borne fighter prototype which China acquired from Ukraine.
The Su-35, powered by two 117S engines with thrust vectoring, combines high maneuverability and the capability to effectively engage several air targets simultaneously using both guided and unguided missiles and weapon systems.
The aircraft has been touted as "4++ generation using fifth-generation technology."

Kommersant is one of the most reliable Russian business dailies:)
Possibly, it is Russia who don't want to sell 1 or 2 jets for China simply to disassembly.

Su-35 is a 4.5th gen aircrafts, which means it still has a 4th gen aircraft base.

There is no more room to develop a 4.5th gen aircraft.

We are to focus more on J-20, which resembles to none of the Russian aircrafts.

It is matter of money.
The best fighter in the world, American F22 is too expensive even for US.
It will turn at the end, that US simply go on modernizing good old F16/15 instead of producing F35 that growing in cost every day.

I think China will not replace all its fighters with the newest 5 th generation one.
Nobody afford it.

P.S. Russia is also testing its 5th generation fighter, but Su35 is called the main fighter for Russian air force in close future. Or Russia still have plenty of T-72 and even older tanks, while designning the newest one, Armata.

J-20 is going to be our high-end aircraft, because its deployed number cannot be huge, that's we are creating another low-end 5th gen aircraft like J-31 to fill up the limited units of J-20.

If we need to modernize our 4th or 4.5th gen aircrafts, we gonna go after our J-11 series. Only its airframe derived from the Russian Flanker family, but it has the advanced structural composite materials, the AESA radar, the indigenous engine. We are more familiar with this fighter than Su-35. So there is no point for us to waste money on Su-35. :coffee:

I simply wanted to show you that China may be interested in buying Su35, even while testing its 5th generation.

Further, Russia is planning to own some 200 units of PAK FA at the end.
It is clearly can not be enough:) So beside of PAK FA Russia will always have some hundreds of Su35so-on family fighters.

Su35 in another transcription is simply Su27 BM2 or something:)
For China it is also cheapest to modernize its Su27s:)

Sorry, we are not really interested after Su-35, neither for S-400.

Since we still have some old aircrafts bought from Russia in the 1990s like Su-30MKK and Su-27SK, you can sell us few more AL-31F engines for those veterans before they got scrapped. :coffee:
