Indonesia does not rely on the Malacca Strait that much. We do not have a transit port in Batam, there are only harbor for ferry crossing towards Singapore. Our transit port mostly for ships from the north who want to go to Australia.

It does affect Indonesia's economy, but the effect will be very little because Indonesia's major ports in the Strait of Malacca is not depended on Ships crossing Strait of Malacca for transit to continue their way to go to S.C.S instead of only providing gates for Import and Export to and from Indonesia itself, ships going for Java Island and Australia will likely be sticking to the old route as it already has good ports rounding it and has proper protection as Singapore - Malaysia - Indonesia navy are regularly patrolling it. Meanwhile, It is Singapore that will definitely be affected, this country has the busiest port in S.E.A and relies its economy on service sectors. The lesser ships crossing their port, the lesser service needed, and the lesser service needed means lesser income.
