Looks like pn requires total 5 with most probably 3 or 4 in Asw and one or two in transport configuration to replace f-27s

A third aircraft was delivered in August 2016 and with options on a further two it would appear the Navy intends to acquire a fourth ATR72 in the near future. Alan Warnes

I am not an expert on anti submarine tech but I was going through systems on board P8 and all the systems were similer like aesa radar, EO/IR tracking, torpedoes, depth charges, high speed data links etc

P8 is too advanced. We've Il38 and Do228 that are more similar.

Its never going to go head to head with P8i.
Its going to search and destroy indian subs, can it find, track and destroy them? Yes!

well if it can find, track and destroy Indian subs i will give it 10/10 marks and an excellent return for the buck, well done Pak Navy, we dont need P8s if we can tackle Indian Navy with these machines.
