18 Youth martyred, 8 troops killed in Kupwara clashes
Students of Wadura college hold anti-India protests
Srinagar, March 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, eighteen youth have been martyred and eight Indian troops including Major Mohit Sharma killed and half a dozen soldiers injured in the clashes between the Mujahideen and Indian troops in Kupwara district.
The clashes started on Friday at Shamshabari, Chowkibal, Drangyari, Shaladori Hachamarg, Hafrada and Vilgam areas of the district. The troops during their five days long joint operation destroyed at least six residential houses.
The students of Agriculture College of Wadura in Sopore held anti-India protests against shifting of army personnel from Bomai to Wadura. The protestors told mediamen that the huge presence of Indian troops in the town had endangered the life and property of the people.
In New Delhi, an APHC delegation led by the Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq met the diplomats of America, United Kingdoms, France, Japan, Germany and Malaysia. The diplomats were told that the peace in South Asia was not possible without resolving the Kashmir dispute, once and for all. The APHC leaders underlined the need to restore Pak-India dialogue process.
On the other hand, Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Yasmeen Raja and Zafar Akbar Butt in their separate statements welcomed the assertion of the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights, Navnetham Pillay, to repeal Armed Forces Special Powers Act, due to which Indian troops enjoy impunity in the occupied territory.
The Chairman of Kashmir Centre Brussels, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, and the Executive Director Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl said that India must reciprocate the demand of Navnetham Pillay regarding an impartial probe into the unidentified graves found in Uri area of Baramulla district.
