I am telling you. The sikhs pride themselves into killing 100,000 pakhtuns everywhere. They have awful stories to insult Pakhtuns, their prime enemy. They have it just for all Muslims. Yet they lived peacefully among Muslims and prospered all the way up to Afghanistan.

I think the guy was just giving the account of what British historians reported, I don't think he presented that post as his own belief. You can reject the narration of british historian and the problem is solved. Generally British historians wrote bad remarks about certain races of south asia just based on hearsay without any concrete research to paint those people in bad light and get their soldiers and loyalists to fight out their supposed "uncultured" savage enemies. They still do the same using BBC/CNN/FOX news , I observed their naked propaganda against Saddam hussain and iraq's WMD just to motivate their public and military for a forceful action against iraq in 2003.

I also read about this story, seemed to me very cruel punishment to British soldiers nothing more. Never looked at islamic angle, if you do that then there are many practices which are illogical and anti-islamic. But if there is only one account of that event then its most likely fake.
