Why do so many countries and empires take the eagle as their insignia. The romans,USA,nazi germany, holy roman empire, prussia, napoleonic france, imperial russia, poland, even pakistan, even aztecs had eagle knights.Your thoughts?

Well three reasons could be
1. Firstly it flies , we have always been fascinated with flying . If you look at many languages you will find sentences like soaring to new heights etc .
2. It also has a certain bit of majesty to it combined with it being the top predator , thus a combination of graceful yet brutal.
3. Early mythologies perhaps? I'm guessing early humans would be fascinated with sky and what would be above it , birds being able to fly would become part of the mythology I guess.

But an important point to note would be that almost all of these countries you mentioned have some relation to Rome.

For ex The title of Czar comes from Ceasar ,The Russian territories were followers of the eastern orthodox church and became christian due to the eastern roman empire hence the got the eagle from them. The Germans again have a relation with Rome(Holy roman empire etc) so in my opinion it was Rome's adoption of the eagle that led to it being a symbol of the majority of the nations.
Just my 2 cents :)

Because of its might, grace, power and other attributes one searches for in a symbol....

Eagle is a majestic creature which has a combination of expertise in flying , excellent eye for the prey, good timing and predatory skills.

Any thing from the sky which is powerful is symbolized by the eagle I think.

Some symbolisms and associations are common in many cultures. For example, snakes/serpents are always evil, and the eagle is their mortal enemy. "When the eagle and the serpent meet, the world's foundations tremble!" (Shelley.)

In Indian mythology the garuda symbolises everything the eagle does. Kaliya is one example of an evil serpent being slain, which is a common leitmotif in many other cultures as well.

It comes from emulating the might of the Romans, I know this is the case for the American Bald Eagle it is probably the same for Europeans nations most of whom have been more culturally affected by Rome.

The Indonesian coat of arms is the Garuda.

1) Lion

2) Wolf

3) Rooster

Lion rules and is a very good social animal.

Wolf is also powerful creature and is know for its ferocity.

For some reason I find rooster and lion alike in their behavior, both are territorial and take care of their territory and things inside it.

1) Some sort of winged creature (for obvious reasons) Most likely a falcon
2) A leopard/lynx/lion type creature (e.g. snow leopard; since they're beautiful)
3) Perhaps some sort of mythical creature, like a dragon

I think most people would pick at least 1, likely even 2 from the above. They're quite universally liked.
