F-35B Pops Up In Indian Aircraft Carrier Official Impression

The Lockheed-Martin F-35B has popped up in an official artist's impression of India's indigenous aircraft carrier, currently under construction in Kochi. The aircraft's B and C variants have been pitched to the Navy in response to an RFI earlier this year. An earlier impression of the carrier featured F-15s operating from the ship's flight deck.

The Indian navy is so far ahead.....it leadership is hands down one of the best I've ever come across. Their ability to grasp the latest concepts and incorporate into their defense is astonishing. Going for the F-35 is a clever move, no doubt about that!

NO//No way can IN get 5th Gen before IAF. If we order now then also we will be getting F-35 earliest by 2020..Only IAC-II and IAC-III will be able to fly F-35..

The Ford class CVF is a flat deck and dosent have a ski-jump.

It is surely supposed to be the IAC. We just dont know which one.

I don't think indian navy is going to buy F-35...!

F-35 would be a good option for IAC-II considering the fact that Naval FGFA will not be ready by then..Only concern is that US is trying to make this plane an all rounder (i.e. capable of doing the jobs of Air-Force,Navy and Army ) which may make it suitable (specialist) for none..
