The delegation is being led by Group Captain Girish Saini,VM , with Wg Cdr A C Chopra as the Deputy Leader .Wing Commander A K Bharti is the Commanding Officer of No.30 Sqn. His Flight Commanders, Wing Commander Asit and Assudani are part of a 20 strong Su-30 Aircrew.
The Il-78/76 detachment is led by Gp Capt K Raghavendra,VM who is a highly qualified Airlift expert.

Will a Group Captain lead a Sqaudron or a Sqaudron Leader

A Group Captian commands a wing, a wing consists of 2 or more Squadron. 40 to 50 planes
A wing Commander Commands a Single Squadron.20 to 24 planes.
A Squadron Leader is 2nd in command of a Squadron known as Flight Commander. 20 to 24 planes.

The above configuration is what IAF and PAF has on one base but in an excercise the Configuration is changed. Air Force puts there best in an excercise. So a Group Captian can command a Squadron or a wing only in an excercise.
