What's new

ex-pat "Indian" vlogger in Muzaffarabad

or maybe this is an old video of his previous trip..
apparently not

" I can't believe I made it. I'd dreamt of this trip #Kashmir. COVID-19 delayed it. Then another Lockdown delayed it ๐Ÿ˜‘ But I kept adjusting too - I learnt that skill in India ๐Ÿ™ Before I hated plans changing, now I'm more mellow and adaptable. Muzaffarabad is an incredibly beautiful city set amongst a valley where the Jhelum and Neelum meet. It's a small city but with a big โค๏ธ and very kind Kashmiri people. This video is a little sneak peek of when I crossed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into Kashmir. Lots more to come. "

looking fwd to the rest !

No, he's a secularist and even got detained at an anti CAA protest once

Did hightail it out of Pakistan last time around because he was being trailed by the ISI so it is a bit strange to see him back, spl in these tense times, and spl in azad kashmir ! Think I heard it's not easy even for regular Pakistani citizens to go there.. need special permit etc ?

Harmless guy though, loves this part of the world, India specially. there's also a vid of his wife visiting kartarpur. Could be the Pak government actually want him there so he does good positive publicity for the country.

GoP is very interested in opening up for tourism. They understand the benefits from an economic perspective (money spent by tourists) but also the image of the country and the perception. That helps draw in more wealth and investment.

There is no problem for anyone accessing AJK, that is disinformation being spread. The only restriction is for non-residents of AJK to settle there. You cannot settle but you can visit, work and even rent to live there.

The boundaries of AJK mostly follow a river so you typically will have to drive over a bridge to get there. There are security checkpoints but people generally only get stopped late at night if travelling in the early hours. Even then it's not always the case.

This is the bridge near Mirpur - https://www.google.com/maps/place/M...3d33.1291632!4d73.6362894!14m1!1BCgIgAQ?hl=en

I think up until now Pakistan has only really been viewed as a mountaineering destination by enthusiasts, a very niche small market. Good to see the government try and open up the sector. Also good to see that Karl, unlike a lot of other big youtubers, was not courted by the tourism ministry but is apparently going it alone like he does so we'll get a feel for the real deal.

He is a nice chap. Got covid and donated his plasma to help others. Exposed a lot of Indian scam call centers and got some people arrested.

Man I just find this guy so cringe.. he was going around haryana and trying cow pee lassi idk to fit in or get followers or whatever..cringed so hard at that
