Erdogan in China

I was talking about THE member from china, not China itself

He didn't really call for war.:coffee:

Lets be realistic now the Uighurs will never bridge the gap between us. yes as for cooperation all for it military and economic. but I must Imply again there is noting to prove to the Turkish people they are free to go and come to Xinjiang as they please, the current path is going well. as for the problems in Xinjiang I believe they can be solved with a few new policies however a zero tolerance on terrorists.

.
Of course it is nothing like China-Pakistan relationship. But still I am hopeful that leaders from both countries can see common interests beyond disagreements and be pragmatic and respectful to others. I feel current trend is positive. And Turkish people can go to Xinjiang and see themselves instead of having us saying 1 millions or 10 millions of Uighurs are not killed and raped.

I fully agree..There is no open conflict between China and Turkey..A 4 days visit with all the ministers and 300 high level businessmen shows the will of Turkish side to improve relations..And its not one sided..China gave clearance Turkish side to visit Xinjiang..Its the first time that a Turkish PM visited there for at least 20 years i guess..Please prove me wrong if i am mistaken here..We dont need to be best friends, but we certainly can have good economic and military relations..

China is not a warmonger... As I see it, Turkey is. Turkey invades Iraq whenever it wishes to kill PKK terrorists. China sometimes blames countries like pakistan and tajikistan of hosting Uighur terrorists but it never invades their sovereign country, despite having the power to do so.

Please do not show double standards.

There it reads. Bold words.

When China demands Uighurs, they hand over Uighurs to China.

Why would China and Pakistan fight over Uighurs? These Turkic people are not their countrymen. They are homeless.

Iraq doesnt have control over northern Iraq since 1991 first gulf war. Kurds use this uncontrolled territory for staging ground for terrorism. Got it?

Where? I did not find any news as such.

Terrorists in China has been accused to be gaining sanctuary in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and recently Pakistan. But China never invades those countries like Turkey does to Iraq?

International borders and line of controls are already drawn. Turkey does not hesitate to violate international sovereign borders just for chasing some terrorist insurgents. Imagine what turkey would do if it faced situation similar to China in 1979 and 1952 - Invade and annex Vietnam and Korea to itself, just as it did to Cyprus..:woot:

1) Read non aligned newspapers then. Or Search this forum, youll find these news lots of news.

2) Cyprus has not been annexed, it is a de facto sovereign country. Not recognized, only recognized by Turkey. Apperantly, you are not educated in foreign relations, my Russian friend.

Similar to North Korea which is a sovereign country and was created by invading Chinese army.

Guys I have been away for a few hours and what the hell has this thread degenerated into. We should be happy that two great friendly nations are cooperating for mutual benefit. Both are our friends. We should be celebrating its a good move for both peoples of both countries.

Thats great news mate:china:

Armstrong is advertising something there lol..Armstrong you are my man :)

I was asking around if someone would like to see the movie 'Jinnah'. Its about the Founder of Pakistan and how his struggle ensured that we, the majority of the Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent, escaped tyranny and oppression, and got ourselves our Motherland ! :D

I haven't gone through the rest of the thread, though judging by some of the posts, it already seems to have turned into a pissing contest. :P

However I'd still like to say something and to whomsoever it may concern, believe me I write this with great sincerity :

I have followed Pakistan-China relations very closely because for me the words 'loyalty' and 'friendship' mean as much in International Relations as it does in one's Personal Life. In the '70s when China was anything but a Superpower, when it was a nation just like any other, that was finding its feet in the world, when it didn't have much to offer to Pakistan, either diplomatically, financially or materially, Bhutto recognized the sincerity and the strength of character of the Chinese Nation and he went on to forging an alliance with them. In the '70s when China was isolated by the world, Pakistan used whatever influence she had to introduce her to the West and more importantly USA, hence Nixon's visit. And then later we did the same thing by introducing them to the Muslim World. Thankfully Pakistan continued on with this policy well into the '80s and early '90s.

In return China was there for us when we needed a friend the most and provided us help in everything from vetoes in the UN to military support to invaluable infrastructure development. They stood by us in our most precarious situations throughout our history...whether it was the wars of '65, '71, '99 or whether it was Nuclear Explosion of '98 and later they provided invaluable and much appreciated diplomatic support during the OBL raid last year. And so, as someone who has studied our relations very avidly, I can say with utmost confidence that the Chinese too believe in the words 'friendship' and 'loyalty' and if your a true friend to them they will go the extra mile for you. There have been many instance in Our History when no...no one, but China supported us, when even our Muslim Brothers choose to look they other way, China didn't and if that isn't worthy of admiration, if that isn't 'friendship' then I don't know what that word means. For all that China has done for Pakistan, without an ounce of arm-twisting and even when it would have been understandable to say 'No' and yet they still helped us, I am truly in Love with China and I believe I speak for countless millions of Pakistanis, when I say that 'China is Our dearest friend' !

And so I counsel my Turkish Brothers, whatever you do...don't let go of this opportunity ! Whatever your differences...bury them. Whatever your apprehensions bury them ! Whatever you've heard about Xinjiang...know that it is quite possible that its just propaganda, that just as there are powers who deliberately blow the Kurdish issue out of proportion...there are powers who want to create problems for China. My own class fellow was a Chinese Muslim whose father came here to Pakistan to setup a business of their own and if China was oppressing him or his family he wouldn't be as fiercely a patriotic Chinese as he is ! And his Mother's side of the family are Ugiyurs ( I dunno how to spell it).

Additionally terrorism is a very real thing. Much more so after the mess of a situation left in Afghanistan at the end of the First Afghan War of the '80s, the ensuing Civil War and now the so-called War on Terror. It is entirely possible that terrorism has reached Xinjiang too and so you should give the Chinese the benefit of the doubt ! I know I believe them because living here in Pakistan...I've come across a couple of people with an extremist mindset and I'm sure there are many more out there who are violent alongside being extremists - the Taliban and their sympathizers are one such example. So...please, Give the Chinese the Benefit of the doubt because they - the Chinese - are a great People and a great Nation, and if you're sincere to them....believe me, they will be sincere to you ! So chance it...just this once, you won't regret it ! Because believe me when I say this : There are only a few countries in the world who are truly capable of being 'friendly' and not just using you for their own interests - China tops that list ! And I love Turkyie too much for You guys not experience that ! Extend a hand of friendship to China and then don't be surprised if they turn out much...much better than what West says they are ! :china::pakistan:

Worthless comments here will never change anything from the reality, Turkey is the strongest, most advanced , and modern country in the Islamic world. This Kazakh guy is a shamed to mention his origins. Being born and raised in Russia doesn't mean he is Russia. If I were born and raised in the US, would I say I am American? noway. All I want to say that Turkey is not alone, it's a part of us as well as NATO, although it's strong enough to deter any aggressor.

Strategic deals signed as Turkish prime minister ends 27-year gap

Nuclear energy and investment deals were signed on Monday during an official visit to China by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The visit, the first by a Turkish prime minister in 27 years, indicates that both countries are enjoying a "honeymoon" period in their relations, an expert said.

Turkey is an emerging power and China attaches great importance to its influence both regionally and globally, Premier Wen Jiabao told Erdogan.

Wen stressed the importance of both countries boosting coordination in the face of instability in the Middle East and North Africa and the sluggish world economy.

After their talks, Wen and Erdogan attended a signing ceremony for six agreements, including nuclear energy cooperation and a declaration of intent for completing negotiations on promoting and protecting investment between the two countries.

Erdogan's arrival comes after Vice-President Xi Jinping's visit to Turkey in February.

Both countries should discuss and map out a mid and long-term cooperation plan for economy and trade, Wen said, and promote major infrastructure projects, including the construction of railways and bridges.

A recently revised agreement on investment protection should be signed and implemented to boost commerce, Wen added.

Turkey is ready to increase high-level exchanges and strategic talks with China, Erdogan said.

Turkey's adherence to the one-China policy was stressed by Erdogan who began his four-day visit on Sunday with a stop at northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

Major developments in Xinjiang impressed him and Turkey is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the region, he said.

Wen appreciated Turkey's support for China promoting stability and development in Xinjiang, and said the government supports Xinjiang further developing exchanges and cooperation with Turkey.

Both leaders also exchanged views on Syria and Iran, but no details were released.

Analysts said the visit will enhance ties despite differences on some issues.

Zhang Xiaodong, secretary-general of the China Association for Middle Eastern Studies, said that Turkey has changed its past practice of looking predominately to the West and places more emphasis on cooperation with emerging markets in the East.

"Turkey is expecting to boost its economy and win a greater global say through cooperation with China," Zhang said.

Cooperation between both countries is expanding, but more time is needed for this to fully develop, he said.

"The visit of the Turkish prime minister signifies that the Sino-Turkish relationship has really entered into a honeymoon," said Zan Tao, an expert on Turkish studies at Peking University.

The relationship hit a low in 2009 when Erdogan criticized China for its Xinjiang policies. A year later, Wen's visit to Turkey improved ties as the two countries set a target for trade to increase to $50 billion in 2015.

Trade in 2011 hit $18.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent.

Economic and trade cooperation tops Sino-Turkish relations, Zan said but politically what China is concerned most about is the stability of Xinjiang.

The Turkish government endorses the one-China policy and it does not allow anti-China forces to use its territory, Zan said. "This has created a good background for the relationship to develop."

your NK war knowledge failed miserably, first NK invaded SK trying to unite it, then SK called their U.S daddy to assist and U.S did and pushed NK force way back, and then NK asked China and Soviet to help fight the war``do you even understand this simple line of events?

ask mongolians and hungarians first, they have that claims too``even the Koreans some of them believe Huns were theirs````you little fanboy``lol

The problem is that the Chinese government is clearly biased with non-Muslims agains Ughors. I watched horroble videos filmimg how those hun torture harmless Ughors. They are not just Turkish but Muslims as well. We do care about them. I don't say they should get autonomy, but Chinese government has to treat them as equally as the rest of Chinese.
