Embracing one another not an Eid tradition, says Darul Uloom Deoband

Damn, so should i greet my Muslim friends/acquaintances tomorrow by hugging them like i've always done. Most of them don't sport a beard, but i have absolutely no clue if they are Deobandis or Barelvis. Any pointers, @Nilu Pule ?
Deobandis don't visit dargahs. They grow a beard. They don't celebrate EID MIlad Un Nabi ( birthday of rasul Mohammad).

Barelvis wear colorful caps and dresses(some chose color of their pir's outfit), they wear a thread/Amulets like Hindus. And they visit dargahs.

Salafis/Ahl e Hadees have huge beards and shave their mustaches. They like to wear Arab clothes. You will encounter them in urban Muslim ghettos.

Barelvis attribute divine qualities to saints.

Deobandis respect saints but don't attribute divine qualities to saints.

Salafis/Ahle Hadis consider saints/auliyas as fraudsters and disrespect them.

Saudis/Gulf Sunnis fund both deobandis and Ahle Hadis. As deobandis have a larger a base than Ahl e hadees in south asia. And deobandi to Ahl e Hadees transitions happen easily.

Any objections my lords?

I have noticed people wearing long arab robes in my city..mine is second tier city....this I saw near a masjid...earlier people used to wear salwar kameez for namaz but recently they started wearing this attire on fridays and on special occasions like weddings etc

If that's the case then most probably the Bengali muslims in Assam are Deobandi/Salafi because they often grow a beard. The ethnic Assamese muslims that i know are all clean shaven.

Idiots with nothing to do but pass fatwas on useless & trivial things.
U never read the article.
They issued fatwa in response to question asked by someone through letter.
Its a good thing to make it easier for Muslims to know about their different religious issue through letters.

Its cultural thing.. Subcontinent people embrace while the arbis make kissy sounds near the cheeks..

Hello. Allah aap ko khush rakhay. Are you still taking SSRI? My experience is that daily brisk walk for about 4 km is also good for anxiety.
Not SSRI. Switched to SNRI. These are slightly better. I exercise daily. Running helps a lot. Weightlifting causes high blood pressure.

Will see how life goes on from now on. Suffering shows us the true side of the world. If we don't suffer then we don't see the truth.

You are right. Many of the mystics passed through this phase of suffering. Though, it is by and large an inner phenomenon.
