What's new

ELECTION RESULTS : UP, UK, PUNJAB, GOA & MANIPUR

its hardcore fact that
people like extremist politicians
we saw it previously in american election

looks like Modi is proving effective leadership is wins over religious vote banks. Seems like he has the majority among all regions.

Unprecedented, a complete saffronisation of two state UP & Uttrakhand with almost one sided election & clean sweep of others...

Punjab went back to khoongress for their consolation.

In Manipur bjp got 21 for first time & now trying to work with Independent mla to form the government.

In Goa bjp secured only 13 seats & are in touch with independent MLAs to form the government.

The biggest sigh of relief is AAP got no serious takers amongst voters in two states where they contested election.
In Goa they had a perfect start to end their circus game.
Their loud mouth will remain shut for atleast some days....

  • surged ahead in Uttar Pradesh, looking set to secure more than majority in the 403-member state assembly, the spotlight shifted to who will take the top job in the country’s most populous state. While BJP’s parliamentary board is expected to meet later Saturday, to review the results and discuss who could be appointed the next chief minister in UP, here is a list of the top contenders.

    Manoj Sinha

57-year-old Sinha is the telecom minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. A two-time parliamentarian, he represents the Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat from eastern Uttar Pradesh. An upper caste Bhumihar leader, Sinha is considered close to Modi and manages the PM’s Varanasi parliamentary constituency.

    Keshav Prasad Maurya

The 47-year-old MP from Phulpur comes from a backward community. He currently heads Uttar Pradesh BJP and was closely associated with the VHP during the Ram Temple movement in the 1990s. His appointment as the president of BJP’s state unit was aimed to garner support among the non-Yadav OBCs.

    Rajnath Singh

India’s home minister, the 65-year-old Thakur leader was the last BJP chief minister in Uttar Pradesh. The senior-most BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh, he is considered close to the RSS. He has the experience of running a state government.

    Mahesh Sharma

Sharma is a first-time member of the Lok Sabha from Gautam Buddha Nagar and is currently the tourism minister in Modi’s cabinet. A practising doctor who owns the Kailash Hospital in Noida, Sharma has been a member of the UP legislative assembly. He is considered close to the RSS.

    Dinesh Sharma

The 53-year-old leader was first elected the mayor of Lucknow in 2008. He teaches at the Lucknow University and is currently the national vice president of the BJP. He is considered close to BJP president Amit Shah.

That said, Modi is known to spring surprises. It is possible he might pick a candidate few would have considered a frontrunner.

We Pakistan nation wish Modi to win again so our plan proocced to level two we can't get our goals if congress win.

1st plan out u r daily life where u r failing miserably then only talk about rest .
Well, it is our humble parthna come out from your well and start watch a big big big world around you And India is in a small corner.

Why Punjab voted Congress
Lesser of 3 evils (for Punjabis)

SAD- current (now previous) ruling party (thus anti-incumbency vote) with tarnished image (corruption)
AAP- pathetic track record in Delhi and mistrusted by most Indians
CONgress- tarnished by UPA years but their CM candidate (Capt (retd) Amrinder Singh) is very respected by most Punjabis/Indians.

And last i remember your Defence minister was CM of GOA.. Why BJP is in bad shape there?
Parrikar was previously CM of Goa yes. BJP in Goa suffered from anti-incumbency vote (had been ruling Goa for some time now) and a few local issues (allies had left them some time back to stand and fight elections alone).

Local issues.

Anyways congrats to modi bhakts, great day for you guys.

Great day for INDIA, finally Indian voters have come of age, they have totally ditched tradtional vote bank and dynastic politics and voted for aspiration, development and progress. Having won the largest state in India (UP), Modi has nother HUGE mandate to keep pushing India ahead and for taking bold, dynamic and tectonic steps. Modi won't be a lame duck or incrementalist, he will rip up the play book and deliver a brand new India to the people by the time his term is over (2024 IMO).
