Featured Egypt reportedly signed contract for 500 T-90MS main battle tanks

reason that any tank turret may blow off; the ammunition has caught fire And exploded. It happens more with Russian tanks as the auto loader requires all the ammunition to be stored below the turret ; so when it explodes, it blows the turret off. Most western tanks have The ammunition stored behind the turret or in the turret bustle; if it catches fire and explodes; then the back of the turret blows off; there are blast doors which give some protection to the crew

Its not begging. They are holding a gun to every president's head with their lobbies in conggress and their control of the media. They played it very smart
at the end pf tthe day its uS tax payers money

We all know most of the 7million residents of israel will flee the country as soon as a foreign enemy crosses their borders
Sorry but here i am against you. During 1948 war, they didn't flee same thing in 56 67 73 lebanese civil war etc... Never underestimate your enemy. Look what happen to Moshe Dayan during October war because of his arrogance he got fucked.

1 misconception id like to get off my shoulders, t90ms is actually technologicaly one of the best mbts out there, the tank has an extended bustle for ammunition storage and the ammunition under the turret is secured by a special caricel which significantly decreased the chances of a cook-off. A smaller size and less weight is the perfect type of vehicle for egypts environment. Not to mention the laser warning receivers, APS, and remote weapons station. The aps is apparently a new version of arena system. This would be a good choice since their familiarity with the tagil family of tanks, and a smaller, lighter body makes it easier to load them on the mistral light carriers, thus simplifying logistics to an extent.

Standardization of this mbt has its own advantages, the k2 panther and this seems to be the top 2 mbts for future egyptian service, unless they can get to upgrade their m1a1s to an m1a2E standard

Well wouldn't that be a problem for neighboring countries. Where do you think they will flee to? Egypt? Syria? Jordan? Iraq?

T-90 is more used by indian army than russian. T-90 is evolution tank from older tanks like T-72, T-62 and T-54. What makes it good, is compact use of volume. Small, comparably light and still somehow protected. If you need to compare tank, you need to know what to expect it have to deal with. T-90 wont fight against M-1 or Leos or Leclecrs. They fight against T-72:s or T-64/T-62. And they are very capable to do that, even in zero losses on themselfs

A tad suprised Egypt chooses to purchase these tanks given their performance in recent war esp Ukraine.

Hopefully they dont get the "egg carton in the ERA packs" option !!!
Egypt makes its own ERA ..

So much misinformation about tanks here I don’t even know where to start. Just let me put it this way for anyone that goes through this thread, don’t take anything mentioned about the capability of any of the tanks mentioned in this thread seriously, 90% of it is false.

The auto-loader is particularly hard to hit, it sits at the lower center of the tank. The more common cause for catastrophic ammo cook-off is the rest of the ammo lying around the crew compartment without any protection in Tanks like the T72 and T90S.
The T90MS stores it’s ammo in a bustle at the back of the turret with blow-off panels, exactly like an abrams does, just without the loading door. The carousel also has increased armor in the MS to prevent rounds inside it from taking damage.

Modern IFV is more usefull then any modern tank, i would go in that direction.

Tank on tank combat is not as common as people think. The biggest threats to tanks are infantry followed by UCAVs. An M1A2CSEPV3 abrams with a Trophy APS and a T90M Provyv 3 With An Arena-M APS would fare similarly against ATGMs; They’re both dead If they take a hit from a modern AT weapon.

False. An IFV cannot do half the roles of an MBT.

Their performance doesn’t have much to do with the tanks, more to do with poor tactics and crews. T90M has not seen much action in Ukraine, T90A/S has. Russia doesn’t have enough T90M to deploy them in large numbers in Ukraine yet.

While a drone can mess up a tank with impunity, it can’t do everything a tank can, especially its original mission; exploit breakthroughs in the enemy’s line supported by mechanized infantry. What the drone does so is give more options to deal with tank threats. The drones themselves have their own weaknesses, from Electronic Warfare to fragility. Who knows, we might see a resurgence of small, truck mounted AA guns. Maybe a new, air burst explosive ammo type for the Mk 19 or even the M2 BMG to deal with swarms of small drones.Anyway, tanks are still around because they fill a battlefield need that hasn’t been done by any other weapons system.

no enemy crosseed into israels heartland during these wars, now its more than likely if another war breaks out
