Syria has been sent back to the stone age , the destruction inflicted on Syria can never be imagined , it will turn into the new somalia of the middle east.

Sure you are completely right , this is what should happen , in addition both Russia and Egypt share the same enemy " islamists such as MB " .

Russia should build close Relations with Israel and Egypt , it can benefit a lot economically out of the 2 , also it would make Americans look much weaker in the region . Russia has all the cards to end Israel Dispute with Syria and Lebanon , evidenced by how Assad responded to Russia's chemical weapons deal .

I did not imagine Russian influence was that big on Syria , and some important note most christians in Syria are orthodox and hold big positions within Assad regime that is another factor that makes Russia supports Assad which is understandable.

I think the best thing would be formation of an orthodox/alawi state in Syria under Russian protection would be the best solution for Syrian problem .

what history are you talking about , wake up the united states only 200 years is now the most powerful state in the world and Israel only 66 years ago established has become the most powerful state in middle east.

Syria is ended for good , Assad now survives on loans and weapons from Russia and this is how the Assad portion of Syria would be after the war , relying on Russia for survival .

Countries like Iraq and Syria has always needed outsiders to keep it in order , before it was french and british , then soviet union and today we see Russia and Americans bringing back order there.
