Dying at 22 is too steep a price for being ‘the best’

Turns out he committed suicide.

The father played a negative role in this. His son had resigned but his father put pressure on him to take the job back.

i don't understand this desperation in south asian parents for their children to be seen doing colleges and jobs... did college and job remove the parents from middle-class poverty that they proudly forward it to their children??

Now we all know how controlling and obsessive Indian parents can be. You need to see the documentary on Indians competing in spelling bee. They effectively turn them into slaves.

true of all south asians... it's not like pakistan and bangladesh being a land of college drop-out entrepreneurs like bill gates and elon musk.

But come to think of it if the govt provided all the money then we would have a bunch of lazy galoots.

not so if the political arrangement is socialism... it is like like ussr citizens or jamahiriya libyans were a lazy bunch who became tired after a day of relaxing ( which is what i try to do, you can burn in jealousy :D ).

in socialism goes the saying "one who produces, can consume"... especially in libyan direct-democracy, each citizen participated in the political functioning of society.

Few days back I had watched a video about the "fall of British empire" and why it is inevitable??
The main reason behind Britain going bankrupt would be that somewhere in early 1900's the British empire decided to pamper its citizens by providing medical facilities and other such benefits which were given for free. This subsequently caused the successive governments to take more loan from the banks. And now they say the debt is about 400-500% times the economy(not sure of the exact digit but I'm sure this is not an exaggerated amount).

anti-socialist propaganda is what that vid had.

british economic system was and is capitalist... wasn't "insurance" a british invention... what was the british army but a military arm of the british banks and their owners...

look at this case from jalandhar from 2012, ( Parents say 5-day-old baby died in hospital as they couldn't pay Rs 200 for incubator )...
A senior doctor then told them the baby would need to be kept in it for another day. After that, they were told about depositing the money. "We were told that the electricity bill for a day for ventilator comes out to be Rs. 25 and I will have to pay Rs. 200 as advance. I told them I do not have that much money and requested them to place the baby on ventilator but they did not do it," says the baby's father Sanjeev Kumar, a daily wage worker.

this is the true face of capitalism.

Ahemmmmmmmm
Like you've started to like FB, you will also start like a mobile....if you purchase it. :)

rubbish. :D

But I get your point, happiness today is directly proportional to the money one earns...or so ppl assume.

Logical!!!
My statement applies to those who have to send money back home and who responsibilities on their shoulders (like student loans).

and those responsibilities are unnecessary... if the political system in india ( and south asia ) was socialist, none of those responsibilities would have existed... for example, free education or sponsorship, free medical system and court weddings instead of 600-guest ones running for four days.

south asian parents don't leave their children alone... there is always the "baheniya ki shaadi and bhai ka engineering college" money that a foreign-living son must keep sending to home... there is also the south asian need to win gossip contests by claiming "my son does this job and earns so much", even though that son is really a wage-slave who can be thrown out of job any moment.
