Dying at 22 is too steep a price for being ‘the best’

By mandatory I mean legislation should make it mandatory for businesses and corporate to send their employees on leave after every three or four months. Some good companies with strong HR policies force their employees to go on leisure days, that way employee gets time off and organisation gets to plan succession and tight control over what employee has been doing.

Workaholics enjoy their work and don't indulge in other relations and surroundings, and I don't find them healthy by the way. I am a human not a machine.

Yes these days companies are opting for compulsory vacations. Every extra hour in company gets paid by adding extra hour in vacations.

Being in a Bank myself, i can tell myself that banking is a very very stressful job. Even though i am not in investment banking or any other fancy named deptt, but it takes a toll on your mind and body if you take the job on your heart and dont give time to yourself or to your family.

And in whatever job you do, a break at regular intervals in necessary. A person should go out of city and enjoy the day either with friends or family. Even if it is for a couple of days. it relaxes you a lot.

Management too needs to have a human view and must know that if employees are stressed like this there working will suffer in due course of time

Management knows how to bend you and they will devise a method to **** you.

Once a wise senior advised me, "A good worker is like a race horse as long as it can run and win races it is loved and taken care of, but the day it refuses to race anymore is the day when it will get shot".

And what is it, is it due to fatigue?
It's due to not moving while in a stationary position. If you keep sitting for a very long time without moving, blood pools in your lower body and eventually clots. Then that clot breaks and goes to your lungs and causes an embolism that can lead to death.

If you are traveling for long duration like 20 hour flight, it's a good idea to get special socks to prevent this.

I can relate with what Gupta went through. No matter how hard you work, you are always a good for nothing for the Boss. I remember the nights I spent awake preparing for next client meeting, making business plans, travelling n travelling.

Its better to do a relatively cheaper job. At least you would have weekends for yourself and family.

Totally 100% agree. Been there...done that. Take the pay cut and get a 40 hour a week job.

As a Dr I think it was a pulmonary embolism that killed him.

why not ruptured aortic aneurysm?
edit-it seems to be suicide

And by the way I happen to have read a Fatwa by some Mufti Sb. (I hope the document I saw was authentic) regarding making staff / employees sit late in offices is Un Islamic and Haram :D. It was well written with some logical points and justifications.

Yes @jamahir is invited sans his cats. :P
(Just teasing you!!!)

I did not get this bold underlined part, and teasing must be for Jamahir as cold war is not over yet.

I lost my tayi ji to aneurysm 2 yrs back. I guess it was nerve rupture in her brain which turned fatal, or something to that effect.
sorry to hear that,,,i think u mean to say a ruptured blood vessel

interning with Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank

another capitalist gone for good, i would say... sorry to be ruthless. :)

imagine how many world citizens were brought to misery by this fellow's spreadsheets and stock projections... what he and his kind did brought the reaction in form of "occupy wall street".

Employees are new generation slaves. Lol

And invite @jamahir (with his mattress) to elaborate further on this. :D

they are wage-slaves, no better than the bonded-laborers ( peasants ) under multi-generation slavery contracts written by the feudals.

and my mattress will occupy the mansions of the slavers. :D

I don't remember exactly, but I remember the word aneurysm.
It happened one fine day and then she had to undergo a surgery, which was not successful. She went into coma and was gone a week later.
