Just mentioning the most interesting snippets, there's a lot more for those interested in the link.

In the Missiles cluster,
1.User trials for Nag missile were completed;

2.the tactical missiles, Helina and Astra
underwent a number of successful developmental
launches;

3. The ballistic Control and Navigation Test (CNT) flight trials of Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LRSAM) were conducted;

4.An active radar seeker, for AD mission, has been developed and tested for acceptance;

5.The first computerised War Gaming
Center at Chandimandir has been established.

So, HELINA has been tested multiple times. :yahoo:

Also an active radar seeker means things are well on track for Akash mk2 (ARH type)
:yahoo:

In the Electronics area the major achievements include

1.Integration and field testing of country’s first indigenous active array radar;

2. Installation and trial evaluation of the EOFCS on INS Shivalik; operationalisation of Combat Information DecisionSupport System (CIDSS);

3.Development and
testing of Laser-based Ordnance Disposal System
and Advanced Laser guided Bomb Tester.

4. User trials of ROV (remotly operated vehicle) have been successfully
completed

1. I think he is talking about the DRDO AEW&C radar.

2. Indian version of aegis on the way?

4. ROV (remotly operated vehicle) Daksh, I presume!

The achievements of Naval group of laboratories
include

1.Successful technical trials of the Advanced
Torpedo Defence System (ATDS) – Mareech.

2.Successful demonstration of Sea Bed Array Sonar
for detection of submarine in littoral water.

3.System development of Ship-launched Heavy Weight
Torpedo.

4. Realisation of Air Independent Energy module under Fuel Cell Programme.

5.Induction of Varuna EW system.

1.Mareech---ATDS for surfaced ships. The system will be capable of detecting, confusing, seducing and decoying incoming torpedoes. The decoy helps in exhausting the energy of the torpedo by running the later through long and ineffective course.:smokin:

2.Indian SOSUS in the making? Agostas beware!

Added later-
These are off-board sonars, deployed on the seabed, meant for continuous monitoring of strategic locations. Sea trials were carried out during March - April 2009. All the objectives of the project have been achieved. The system was proved against submarine target!

So it is indeed the indian version of SOSUS in the making!

3. Varunastra is already into production, wonder what this new thing is?:what:

4. Indian AIP subs......... Hope they materialise.....:undecided:

5. Nxt Gen EW system for Navy already inducted ! GO NAVY!:cheers:

Here are few Army related developments.. (A few snippets about the now ready Arjun mk2)

(-Annual report from MoD as an extra source)

1. Induction of Under Barrel Grenade Launcher
(UBGL), Multimode Grenade, Carrier Command
Post Tracked (CCPT) Vehicle
,

1.Carrier Command Post Tracked Vehicle (CCPT)

It is the first of its kind with tracked chassis housing Artillery Combat Command and Control Systems (ACCCS) for accomplishing fire control functions of all the versions of Artillery guns, of the Indian Army.

Finally, something our arty guys can cheer for!:yahoo:

2. Multi mode Grenade--

DRDO has developed a general purpose antipersonnel grenade, named Shivalik, for use in the hand mode and for launching from the rifle by using normal ball ammunition. The bullet trap technology used in the grenade eliminates the need of the special ballistite or gas cartridge for launching grenade from the rifle.

1 million peices ordered by the Army!

3. UBGL--
Army has also approved bulk production of the add-on 40 mm under-barrel grenade launcher (UBGL) .The UBGL, which can be mounted on the INSAS as well as AK-47 rifles, was developed keeping in view the concept area-target capability.

Capable of night-firing, it fills the gap between the maximum range achieved by a hand grenade and the minimum range of a mortar while giving better accuracy than both.

Delivery of

Multi-barrel rocket launcher system(Pinaka),

MBT-Arjun tanks,

NBC Recce vehicle,

Mobile Nuclear Contamination Analysis Station,

Armoured Engineering Recce Vehicles

Seperate post for Arjun and ATGMs coming up!
