If we want to defend Pakistani waters only than we don't need Air Craft Carrier but if we plan to establish Naval bases in KSA in future than AC will be needed in fact two will be needed

We have letter carriers, we have pigeon carriers, we have tiffen carriers---why do we need an aircraft carrier---.

Our aircrafts fly----why do we need to carry them---. If we have a carrier for them---and put them on the carrier---and then they will forget to fly---and then what are we gonna do about that--hehn----train them to fly again.

why would Pakistan need an aircraft carrier? We aren't trying to globally project our military - our military's task is the same as any super power or developing country but as far as strategic goals- we - are not the same as USA or Russia or China. What we will be having plenty of is anti carrier missiles - the Chinese have been most helpful in this regard rest assured. But we dont need air craft carriers plain and simple. It's just not necessary.

neither does india actually.....but it went ahead and bought soviet age carrier which would have otherwise been moth-balled and then eventually broken down for scrap metal

And why is that?
India is a peninsular country, and an aircraft carrier gives our forces a multiple point aerial defence option.
ACs are not only for power projection, it just gives our forces more options.
When our submarines and destroyers would effectively stop any aggression our Mig-29s along with the IAF will effectively provide a defence solution against oncoming fighters from multiple points i.e. land and sea.
When so many countries out there are opting for aircraft carriers including your beloved China and participating in exercises, your point seems no less than moot.

A carrier costs as much as pakistan's defence budget. Carrier has a different strategic value, its not a tactical weapon.

If we wanted one , its was already inducted, but we are not here claiming supa dupa pawa like India... The weapons we need we already have all unlike india whose amo stock is not sufficent but they are making carrier ... I just want to say on India's situation is a Good Big *LOL*
