Do you guys feel scared to sleep alone?

Do you consume too much horror genre movies seasons and ebooks?
Try reading or watching something funny before going to bead.
Also a Childhood trauma like being frigtened and scared from something at young age can also be the root of problem.

I listen to ghost story podcasts before I sleep. It actually puts me to sleep faster.

Man theives are very brave theses days. They cut the catalytic converter (of a good car) while being watched and filmed, were laughing and went away.

There are ways to combat them but I can only say so much here.

Sleeping angry helps with the sleep paralysis.
Brotha have you tried induced sleep paralysis.. Another life experience you should have man..

The way i see it you don't need a ghost story to sleep you just need a lullaby or a narration.

If its an habit doesn't matter what they sre talking about as long as you hear someone speak you will sleep.

Try ASMR.

Hi guys if similar thread has been discussed earlier then sorry and mods can delete this thread.....

Actually I always wanted to know how other people feel if they have to sleep alone in some hotel room...... due to my job I sometimes have to travel and obviously have to stay in hotels.....

I don't know why but whenever I travel and return to my room at the end of the day toughest part of my travel journey begins.....

My mind unwantedly starts thinking about dead people, ghost stories..... I feel so scared that whole night I'm forced to keep my room lights on and keep TV running.... almost up to 4 am I keep watching action movies to feel better..... I don't even drink a water so I don't have to go to loo alone in the night...... in such cases I end up sleeping till late and it affects my next day schedule..... even at home if I have to stay alone I sleep but can't sleep without lights on..... don't know what to do..... if you guys have such problems please share.....

Sleep with a light on and pray to God to help you. I would suggest more but it's more for Muslims. Hope all goes well. You seem like a nice chap.

Your problem is psychological, as you may have already figured out. This is a form of anxiety that is manifesting itself in the form that you see. Such anxiety, never really goes away, but transforms itself into something else.

It looks like your anxiety is currently manifesting/triggering itself in your sleep/loneliness situations. Maybe in a couple of years, the trigger will be some financial issue or some health issue. For example, you could start worrying about finances, even though there are no financial pressures in your life, but you think and convince yourself that certain financial decisions could unleash monetary ruin on your life. In the same way, you might start having some chest pains, and you will become a hypochondriac and convince yourself that you are having heart issues.

The best way to tackle such issues, is to see a psychiatrist.

In the absence of seeing a psychiatrist, it would be advisable to make small achievable gains by doing a few things
1. Try and lower the stress in your life. Exercise is one of the best mechanisms. In your particular case, you should exhaust yourself in the gym in the evening, so that you get to your room in the evening and fall asleep.
2. I note that you said you sleep with the lights on. Perhaps set a goal of lowering that over the days or weeks. For example, if you have 5 lights on, then first lower that to 4 and so on, until you just need maybe just a small night light.
3. Slowly convince yourself that your problem is psychological, and you control the solution. That is, there are no external factors that will influence or interrupt your life/sleep at night.

And finally, as a Muslim, I must advise on the calmness I feel, when I listen or read the Quran. I know this does not apply to you, but this has been known to be helpful to many, including myself. There are plenty of Quran recitals on YouTube.

Ghost actually I have seen in karwar, Karnataka India but won't tell here as nobody will believe..... actually this is also a reason I feel scared to sleep alone....

Exactly.... Horror contents too has brought me into this situation today....
Strange things do exist. Allah Almighty mentioned jinn in the Holy Quran.

I noticed something strange in my very room one night in previous year. My first experience of its kind.

Yes, completely avoid horror contents. Your mind is hyper and it should be relaxed.

If you are Muslim then make a habit of reciting Durood Sharif and Ayat Kursi when you are sleeping alone.

Well, I will post something more serious here. I believe many Muslim here when they were kids also have the same problem sometime, particularly if we were watching horror movie before sleeping. But Muslim when they grows up usually they dont have this issue anymore since their faith on their God is getting stronger due to reading Quran more and also do to the habit in praying 5 times daily.

Many verses in Quran give assurance to the Mukmin ( believer ) that God is the strongest so we dont need to be afraid on anything if we believe in God and Quran teaches us that God is closer to us then our blood artery in our neck.

Even for Muslim there is verse in Quran saying that we must only afraid on God. Afraid on Djin or person for some one like me who understand Sufism I would say it can be regarded as Sirk and this is the biggest sin in Islam.

@vishwambhar

May be this will calm you a little..

One more spirtual advice.. Whan you bathe, gargle and clean your nose three times. Also clean your armpit and pubic hair once in 40 days, at least. This purity is related to spirtuality in Islam and seems harmless for non-Muslims

Yes large room further scares you..... when I was in Dubai my room was so large that in Mumbai type of city people can make it like one room hall kitchen type flat..... I don't if you guys have experienced but Dubai maybe because of desert feels so calm and silent in the night I can't exactly describe but that silence of Dubai in night in such a large room was killing me..... whole night I was awake watching movies.....

Just turn on some sitcom with laugh track and go to sleep. How old r u btw?

hmmm. I am just afraid that they stab easily over little things. I have to support my family in Pak, I can't afford confrontation over these things. Once, a shoplifter injured my brother in law over chocolates at garage. If you count drive offs, there are plenty. Nobody is afraid despite we forwarded their reg to police.

Somebody broke our car window and took petty things. Anyway, police caught him through blood sample found inside the car. It means UK has genetic data of its citizen. o_O

in fact i miss those old damn days when i sleep alone wake alone eat alone and live alone . they best part of my life was from 2008 to 2014 when i live alone and free .

I remember those wonderful times.

Nowadays I wake up to crying, school time, youtube,....

That's what keeps me away from marriage
Don, t want to lose this freedom man.

For all the complaining us married men do, nothing sounds sweeter than the word abbu first thing in the morning.

No touch is better than thier tiny little hands as they wake you up.

And there is no better way to start a lazy weekend than morning .... Baki samji jao.
