The military in Syria is pro regime and is the regime. They mostly are alawi too, if the military actually cared about the people they would do something to solve it. But, by this you guys mean the military has to defeat the opposition and take full control of the country. Which is exactly what I said you guys would say. You're talking about reserves, the career soldiers which make about almost 200,000. 140,000 of them are alawi. Not to mention officer corps which is 80% alawi or republican guard which is all alawi..

I already said, from the beginning there should have been a new government with democratic process. And civilian equal control over state institutions instead of the minority controlling everything.
