Discuss PAK-IND air wars

Why don't you put in the numbers yourself and educate us?? Also if we go by war strategy then India's strategy was defensive in west and offensive in east...So do take that into account once you share numbers with us...

The fact that a single squadron of obsolete F-86s stationed in East Pakistan, faced the fury of Ten IAF Squadrons based in that sector, three of them equipped with MIG-21s the rest made up of SU-7s, Gnats, Hunters and Canberas. The solitary PAF Squadron was grounded within 48 hours of the hostilities due to single runway rendered non-operational. In two days of operations No.14 Squadron still managed to shoot down 11 IAF aircraft including 2 MIG-21s. Once the unit was grounded, the IAF had no air opposition and went in gung ho, but failed to destroy even one of the grounded Sabres but lost lost another 17 aircraft due to ground fire. The story in the Western theater was the opposite where the PAF was carrying the war to India .

listen you man first confirm with windj what is the fact...he says the planes reached Pakistan after the air war.....u say i was not used because it lacked aim-9B capability....

seems like u both are lost in the words/facts/truth/lies/fantasies/bs
Let me ask you something, what do you prefer, being dragged and beaten or dragged after being beaten. Is there any difference.
Using all these terminologies doesn't make you a credible debater rather an irritating nuisance. Since you are resorting to be a nit pick, let me make it simple for you, whatever the reason, late arrivals, no AAM capability, engine missing or whatever, the bottom line is the Jordanian aircrafts never participated in the war hence the claim of shooting some of them down is absurd.

To remind you most of the dassault sources/neutral sources claim that 28 mirages were supplied to you.....also the fact told behind the return is that first you used them to show them as your plane so as to minimize ur damages and then you returned it<or not>...

The Mirage -IIIEP served with No.5 squadron at Saragodha during the 1971 war,
operating primarily in the air Defence role. Some 28 Mirages were supplied by France,
and 23 were shown after t he war, though six extra aircraft were said to have been
supplied by a Middle Eastern ally.
The PAF played a more limited role in the operations, and was reinforced by F -104s
from Jordan, Mirages from an unidentified Middle Eastern Ally (probably Libya) a nd by
F-86s from Saudi Arabia. Their arrival helped camouflage the extent of Pakistan's losses.
Libyan F -5s were reportedly deployed to Saragodha, perhaps as a potential training unit
to prepare Pakistani pilots for an influx of more F -5s from Saudi Arabia .

Which "dassault sources" are you talking about? Just alone Dassault in a topic does not make it a official word of Dassualt company.

Again you have posted a link which is complied of different sources. Encyclopedia does not conducts research on its own rather they rely on information which are available to them at request.

Have you try to comprehend the fact that if Pakistan officials can disclose the fact that 10 Jordanian F-104 and 5 Lybian F-5 were supplied to PAF in 71 then why wouldn't they disclose Mirages and Saudi Sabres if they were ever supplied in 71 war!? This is clear propaganda by Indian officials which has made it across some misinformed authors.

Interestingly. The only Arab nation to operate Mirage-III was Lebanon which only acquired 12 such type and they them self were in a more desperate need. So this statement of PAF receiving additional Mirages is totally wrong and baseless as no official from either Pakistan or Lebanon have confirmed such claim and neither any foreigner credible defense officials. And then Libya just placed order in 1971 of a different type of Mirage the "V" variant and its bogus to claim that Libya would supply them without even using it. Plus Libya and Egypt were gearing up against Isreal and the war was about to start.

So Pakistan air force only received 10 Jordanian F-104, 5 Lybian F-5s and finance from other oil rich nations which would help PAF recover and finance military deals.

Yet again another article debunked.

You can also see Cecil Choudhary and M M Alam in the picture.

Its actually quite hilarious hearing from indians about baseless claims.
First they were claiming PAF ordered 28 Mirage-III not 24. Then it was PAF also acquired Mirages-V before 71 war and now another baseless claim was "some arab" state provided Mirages to PAF.

That's old news, one can recall some Indian military historian sounding alarm bells over the UAEAF Block-60s, claiming that in any future wars, PAF pilots would fly them to Pakistan.

. .
Some of the captured IAF Pilots are being repatriated on a PAF F-27.

. . .
The Indians may be having a very very hard time believing that prior to 71 PAF acquired 24 Mirage-III and only after 71 PAF acquired 28 Mirage-V. rofl.

A gun camera footage is also needed here.
