Discuss best ways to develop Bangladesh

Bhutan that wasteland is no.50?:rofl::rofl::rofl:
A satellite/client state of India with with no resources
Bunch of illiterate tribals flying kytes
no infrastructure to speak of
that would make it barely civilized
That list is complete BS

That "satellite" with "tribals" has more than three times your per-capita income

Banglapedia is the Gospel?

I wonder if the quote is pure Moonshine!

Newly independent countries require to reinvent history to give them a background.

As time passes, distortions become the truth!'

Nothing unusual.

Actions speak louder than words! Who needs to reinvent history?;)

Tagore & Calcutta babus did every thing possible to sabotage Dhaka university. Tagore opposed the creation of Dhaka University by attending a meeting at Garer Math (Calcutta) and by putting his signature on a petition to the Government to drop the idea of establishing a university in Dhaka.

Tagore & Calcutta babus campaigned fanatically for the annulment of the Partition of 1905.
Tagore was among the ardent supporters of the Swadeshi Movement(1905-1911).

Muslim elites and even peasants and working classes took a leading role against the Swadeshi Movement.Villages in Mymensingh and Comilla witnessed bloody Hindu-Muslim rioting during the Swadeshi days over the Partition.

In Jamalpur and elsewhere in greater Mymensingh, Hindu terrorist Swadeshi volunteers, who took oath at the alter of goddess Kali and sang Bankim’s anti-Muslim Bande Mataram, attacked Muslim supporters of the Partition with bombs they called" Ma Kalir Boma".

Tagore was anti Muslim; those who deny this are in a state of denial. :hitwall:

Hindus led by Rabindranath Tagore opposed establishment of Dhaka University from 1911-1921 but failed :yahoo:

In his own words, "Musulman ra chasha bushar jat, tader abar universitiir dorkar ki?"

Tagore vehemently opposed the creation of a university at Dhaka. He also opposed the Partion of Bengal during 1905 and 1911 which was in favor of Muslims.

He opposed the idea of a university in East Bengal as this would educate his Muslim projas, who would one day question the highhandedness of the Hindu zamindar-bhadralok-mahajan classes.

He attended a meeting at Garer Math (Calcutta) and by put his signature on a petition to the Government to drop the idea of establishing a university in Dhaka.

The main reason for his opposition to a separate province of Eastern Bengal & Assam because he feared losing out his zamindari estates in East Bengal, legal profession and jobs eventually to the majority Muslim community.

Calcutta based babu did not want another High Court in Dhaka, let alone another university to produce East Bengali Muslim graduates to compete in the shrinking job market, legal profession and in the arena of politics.

That would be quite outrageous on the part of Rabindranath to say something like that.Where did he actually say that??

It proves that you have no clue of history.

One could not have lost any zamindari to any Muslim majority, my good friend.

Read the 'Permanent Settlement of Bengal' with a lawyer and historian by your side to understand the fallacy of your statement and wild dreams.

While I don't contribute to the statement of Musulman ra chasha bushar jat, because it upsets my sensibilities in this modern world thought, yet it is true that the majority of the Zamindars were not Muslims and the majority of the farmers were Muslims.

In fact, most of the Zamindars were absentee zamindars, who administered their land through their Naib babus!

The land owned by the zamindars could only be auctioned when they fell seriously in arrears. And it made no difference if the farmers were Hindu majority or Muslim majority of were aliens who landed from outer space.

I understand your eagerness to reinvent history since that would give you a comfort zone for the raison d’être of existence! So, the Tagore family would not have lost a sausage, even if Bengal was partitioned and they lived in England!

I am astounded that education in Bangladesh is superficial where an important issue as the Permanent Settlement is not on the curriculum!

Bhutan is run by New Delhi----client state of India
Well a satellite doesn't cut my definition of a "Successful State"
If it's is successful why be a satellite?
GDP (nominal) per capita
Bhutan 1,978
India 1,265
Bhutan is more "successful" and "powerful" state than India please move there ASAP!

Again you indicate how little you know of the world!

And anyway, most of you BD posters claim that Bangladesh is a satellite of India. Now, is that true?

Now, are you convinced that Bhutan is not such a failed country as you wished to portray?

You keep proving to be wrong in everything.

Study, analyse and then post.

It will help.

Successful need not be equated with Powerful.

It is those who are insecure, waste time on wanting to be Powerful.

The Powerful do not require to mention the obvious.

Off-topic:
mmm...You know Kazi Nazrul Islam was not exactly a Bangladeshi, but actually an Indian. The man was made the national poet of Bangladesh for reasons.

The man used to live in a tiny room back in Culcutta, with no savings and little food. He was on the verge of poverty.

When he came to Bangladesh, things turned out rather well for him. A big house with a large garden, good food, nice car, etc.

I barely ever hear of the man in Zee Bangla or any Indian media for that matter. Yet a lot about Tagore. And that explains quite a lot.

And if you lot were honest, ye would not consider Kazi Nazrul Islam as an icon in India. He really wasn't and isn't. So please, save us from the propaganda, and really just forget about him as your folks really did abandon him. He is OUR icon.

Even though I am not a great fan of Bengali literature, poetry and music, I am glad a talented and deserving man like Kazi Nazrul Islam got what he deserved in the end

Not being a pushover, just stating the truth.

There was a Nazrul treatment society being made in India headed by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of BJP. They even sent Nazrul to Vienna for treatment, you certainly are far from the truth.

Yes, Bhutan is more prosperous than India. No disagreement on that.

Infact it's one of the most prosperous countries in South Asia . One of the happiest countries in the world too ! Most people would agree with this definition of successful state

And why dont you Bangladeshis get rid of Tagore and make use of some Urdu poet and stop indulging in baseless character assassination. It only shows lack of spine in your part, no wonder West Pakistanis considered you as second class citizens.

These Babus were complete loosers. All of them owned (by licking british boots) Jamindari in Estern Bengal and having a lavish life in Calcutta. They were always afraid of Muslim rennassaince in Estern Bengal and eventually loosing their free money.

I am glad that they were treated well after 1947 and kicked out of the land that they never deserve.

Are you glad to with how you lot have been treating each other after 47. I'm glad that we dont have to deal with the ilk of Rajakar anymore.

And stop pouring into Calcutta to get your knee fixed or appendix removed, will you?

very bad tendency. Now a days if a bangladeshi catches common cold he runs to India or Thailand... We have to change this mentality. We have improved a lot in case of medical science. But you know India is cheap alternative for some treatment like bone marrow transplantation, cant be done in BD.

we should have provisions for all those who need medical treatment. How can we deny them services?Thats inhuman. We just have a little issue with some border infiltration. But steps have been taken to counter that.

Why?

Is it expensive or is it because there are no qualified specialists or is it because the infrastructure to do so is non existent?

Please, the only country which ever practised class segregation is the great india and quite openly too. And an Indian is now telling us that we have been treated as second class citizen.

True,

I thought one need not reinvent history.

Yet, you appear to be working overtime gratis!
