What's new

Did you know the Su-57 Felon is the only Fighter Jet Equipped with DIRCM?

u.s already has much more jets than russia and also they have customers of their jets in europe and japan so russia will suffer more

US has more population than Russia. Makes sense they have more jets. But US jets are F-35 which are much smaller than Su-57. Think Type 054 frigate compared to Type 052D destroyer.

. .
The design is fine. The problem with Russians is they are very slow. To date they only built 1 Admiral Gorshkov frigate and 1 Yasen sub. If China were building these they already built dozens of these.

worst stealth design among all 5th gen jets, oh wait Su-57 is for bombing terrorists not for the defense of Russia and Russia needs only 60-100 of them:cheesy::lol::rofl::enjoy:

. .
Russia does not need fighter jet.
And why they have thousands of fighter jets and DEVELOPING 5th gen and 6th gen fighter jet project is in initial phase of development, and if you're talking ICBM/SLBM they can only attack the enemy not have ability to defend the country, you need fighter jets to intercept enemy's fighter jets and strategic bombers, kid do research before you post

To make jobs. I doubt any country would invade Russia. It's not worth it.

You mean this and T90 tanks and Nuclear submarine(s)[Akula] and joint helis and missiles and frigates. Come on, India gets a free pass and will continue. It's all such a farce.

Why don't you just accept the fact that India is a country everybody loves to love, and nobody will ever place sanctions on her?

Think about it: has India ever been banned from buying weapons from anywhere?
:p:

Not really. Wait and see.

This is trade off for being a colonized country. India was British colony. India can't make jet engine without US say so. US forced India to scrap Kaveri engine. Likewise, US forced Canada to shut down Canada's once prosperous aviation industry. Like Canada, India has no freedom.

.
Even a primtivie nation like india has rejected it. I don't see any future of this design unless they redo it.

This is a bad design from the start.

no, the only reason why IAF has pulled out from Su-57 deal is because of political pressure from US. India is in process of purchasing US origin military equipment in a massive scale never seen before. Expect to see F-35 and Super hornets in Indian flag in next 10-15 years. They will later regret their decision.

And you (China) were not colony of British before ww2???

Smaller means its has a lesser RCS. ( surface area) for radar to detect whereas SU57 has larger RCS (surface area) as compare to f35

No, numskull, dear Sir.

I was being sarcastic. Look it up; for long stretches of time, India was on the sanctions list. For some time, even a Mac was not allowed to be exported to India; that's how strict the Department of Commerce was. We struggled to do simulations on an entry level Silicon Graphics machine. On a visit to Singapore, I was aghast to see them with the high-end models in wall-to-wall layouts. Very saddening. And you probably already know the story of how the aeronautical engineers from ADA working at Lockheed Martin turned up for work one morning to be told they weren't being allowed in; even their own notebooks and personal papers were refused!

About the Kaveri engine, my team was involved in doing CAD simulations and checking interferences. It was the most horrific bad design ever. I can't give details. Nobody forced India to scrap the Kaveri engine; it just wasn't any good. Now a modified version produces a smaller thrust and is being thought of for use in drones. If they had dropped a neutron bomb on GTRE, the Tejas would have seen the light of day half-a-decade earlier.

I don't agree. @Foxtrot Delta is right; it was an awful design. Recent Russian designs haven't been genius-level; the MiG 29 was a failure, a clumsy beast with under-powered engine and very short legs, and has had to be modified and modified and modified to reach some degree of respectability. Now they're trying to bury the body very deep, in the re-design that they call the MiG 33 or something; might be the MiG 35, I've stopped keeping count.

True. But smaller means smaller radar and that means less detection and tracking.

Not physically.

If China is a colony it wouldn't be called Middle Kingdom. Chinese are very proud of the fact China has never been colonized.
