Dhaka road to be named after Indira

The goddess Indira is still haunting us.............

Need to call sam and dean

Indhira Gandhi did far better thing than Hasina or Khaleda. If their name could be inscribed on everything from toilet paper to space craft why cant we at least name a road after Indhira??

My 3 cents.. one extra for AL-Zakir.. LOL

Kata ghaye keno nuner chhita dichchen bhai..........uni to heart attack kore mara gyachhen etok-khon.....

bTW...we have Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Sarani in Kolkata....

And countless memorials for Bhasha Shahids all around Kolkata, I think the last one was inaugurated by Mamta in Deshbondhu park.

Anyways name your roads in whatever way you want but just stop blaming IA of stealing your Hari, Dekchi, Korai, Hata, Khunti, Panta Bhat, Ilisher Paturi etc. That would be enough for us!

have to agree with you this time. bharat is the main culprit behind 1971 war and liberation of bangladesh. they trained insurgents, provided them arms and fought war under dressing like civilian. it was bharat all the way.

bengali fools caught in the hands of bhartis.

& what about you fools who could not recognise those deceitful movements & leave their own land....

its right that they are giving respect to that woman of iron who played vital role in creation of Bangladesh.

The Bangladeshis wanted to be free and Indira helped them.

Indira helped create Bangladesh.

Although it might not sound too soothing to your ears.

Yes in the same way Kashmiris want freedom from from india and if they get even moral support they are terroist and Pakistan as Axis of terrorism,

very bad news!!

India trained and armed militias and even sent its troops in guise of bengalis to carry out terrorism.
Shall not be appreciated!

this is the reward you reap when you irritate a peaceful regional superpower, call them coward and kaffir. you tried to destabalize our north east with china's help. thus in 1971 India opened third eye and you got served.

The country of Indra is now blocking Bangladesh's water too.

why so much politics here??it's just a road not the whole country bangladesh is naming after indira .
indira gandhi has a very decisive role in creating bangladesh. The liberation of bangladesh is not possible without her help.so what's wrong naming just a road on a person who help you liberated???

when you can have national anthem written by rabindranath tagore,,then why not a road on the name of indira

It's not kashmiris who want freedom, its pakistanis who want to occupy the kashmir.freedom of kashmir is just an excuse by you people.

i guess baluchis aslo need some moral support !!!!

Stockholm syndrome ? What that has to do with this ? You don't even know what it means.

You love your captors (pakistan) and on top of that hate your liberators (india)

It is their country - if they want to name a road after Zulfikar Bhutto or Tikka Khan or General Niazi - it is their choice. Personally, if Bangladesh wanted to show its appreciation - a monument in their park named after the Unknown Indian soldier would suffice. If they had to name a road - do it after Maneckshaw or Aurora.

Actually the Razakaars and the Bangladeshi fundamentalists like the ilk of Bangla Bhai and their sympathisers would prefer such road names.

Nothing wrong in that.

Moral support in the form of out of work Mujahideens from the Afghan war, finances, war materiel are indeed very admirable, if one observes the application of a the theory of 'bleeding through 1000 cuts' in a very pragmatic way and beyond emotions.

However, the flip side is that these out of work Mujahideens from the Afghan war have also turned their attention within Pakistan, wherein it is burning, and in this confusion, the power players are using religion as a cover to dismember whatever little there is of stability in Pakistan.

As the Biblical saying goes sins of our fathers will be passed from generation to generation

Sins of Zia continues to plague Pakistan.
