What's new

Dhaka-Moscow military talks Dec 3-5 Russia to look to sell high-value missiles

Where are you going to test your shiny new toy? Bay of Bengal? Rather feed the hungry that money, no use of being a nuclear power when people in your country still go to bed hungry
Does that really matter? Its same for our neighboring countries , lots of peoples go to bed hungry still they have NUKE.
If india ever attack on us and want to annex it by force , only NUKE can keep them at bay.

Not really.

A strong conventionally military can stop them - their military would be wrecked to be able to overcome a strong BD conventional force

As of now, Indian Police and Coast Guard can take over Bangladesh. They have superior firepower than BD military combined.

India Police? Indian Coast Guard?
Want to stop trolling and get serious?

OK, Let us start with the next-gen frigate programme - 6 AESA MFR VLS 4000-4500 tonnes frigates...

Just how much of their Navy can they spare to try to take these out? Remember they also have Pakistan and China to worry about.

PS - You sound like another one of the butt-hurt Pakistanis:(

Do you ( and who gave you thumbs up) actually know the difference between Army and police?
Or do you believe that both can fire guns so they are actually same? Or are you too much addicted to video games?

Not really.

Case is not that . If only conventional military is enough , then India and Pakistan wouldn't get NUKE.

Situation is totally different.

India is scared of China and Pakistan is scared of India. They all have territorial disputes with each other.
BD has no such territorial dispute with India.

BD needs to focus on building it's economy(as it is doing) and then funds for a massive military buildup will become available.

Agreed , but
BD has no such territorial dispute with India.
You don't need territorial dispute with someone if you are big fish and want to catch the smaller fish.
Yes India can't harm BD atm , and can't capture it like sikkim or Hyderabad, yet they can cause us much trouble in future . They are repeatedly proving themselves as bad neighbor for us in this BJP regime.

BD is getting stronger faster than India. Remember BD military was more neglected in the past than India's was.

The "Forces Plan 2030" will suffice to keep India at bay. The day they attack BD is the day they disintegrate into their constituent parts.

I thoughy it was generally agreed that we have the B version

I do not believe there is officially a B version. They have an MB version - but that is produced/modified by Belarus.

Hmm...let me.see.

These ships are going to be built at Chittagong drydock. Is the upgradation of Chittagong drydock completed ? How many years would it take ?

Have BN selected any design yet so that we can assess it's capability ? No.

Did they complete the tendering process & sign the deal ? No.

And what's the build period/delivery schedule given that it's the first time you are building a warship & you only have one shipyard constructing it ?

Basically BN frigate as of now is vaporware. It'll take years for the keel to be laid. It taking on IN with your armament wish list may take even more years. (You can only guess what IN would have then)

BTW, Your country (No, not BD but the UK) wants to build Type 31 GPF with almost the same price tag as the proposed BN frigate. You can look up it's capabilities if you want- Google ''BAE Leander Class''.

BD is getting stronger faster than India.

Starting from a very low base. And no, it's yet to start.

It's like a student who scored pass marks in one exam claiming that he is performing better than the other student who is consistently scoring above 80% & trying so score above 90%. :D

Look up Eastern Naval Command, Indian Navy.

As I said earlier, UK law enforcement agencies should look into this problem of high weed consumption among British Bangladeshis.

Don't worry about Bangladesh naval buildup and frigate program.

First of all - our navy is not going to consult the details with any Indian.

Second, a small time adrak seller shouldn't worry about ocean shipments.

It’s just not possible for India or anyone to attack Bangladesh and annex it, if it was possible then Bangladesh would have long gone

Yeah I'm really worried about those non existent frigates which will be built in a yet to be built facility under a yet to be signed ToT deal... ''Naval build up'' truly, as they are literally starting from scratch.

@Nilgiri it seems US law enforcement should also look into the problem of weed consumption among the boat people. :-)

Don't worry we'll have a ringside view of whatever is going on wrt to your frigate procurement given the number of RAW moles in your military & Indian 'stooges' in your establishment. You yourself have said that once.

And your establishment & politicians know how capable they are to stand up to India. The muted response to Subramanian swamy's comments by BNP is an indication of that.

RAWami league didn't even say a word, lol.

Second, a small time adrak seller shouldn't worry about ocean shipments.

You mean to say that Bangladesh- a small time player with it's small defence budget, zero R&D, non existent industrial base & shipbuilding industry only capable of making coasters- shouldn't be concerned about what capable Navies are doing ?

I wholeheartedly agree. :-)
