Yes German Field Marshal........... popularly known as desert fox....... a Hero of world war II
but Hamid Gul was not involved in a conspiracy to kill anyone, and besides, i doubt his family had done any crimes, and also, in Romel's case it was his own Government, why would our NS govt want to kill a retired General?

I don't think Hamid Gul was involved in any conspiracy
I don't argue NS govt wanted to kill him

Erwin Romel was a charismatic General
He was popular among friends and foes alike due to his dignity and principles
He was devoted for the cause he believed
There were differences between government policies and his views
he was national hero
his death was a shocking news for everyone

if you can find out similarities between Gen (R) Hamid Gul and Erwin Rommel you can connect the dots or I am thinking too much

Brought tears to me eyes. I always respected him but now I respect him even more. Thanks for sharing.

One of the most outstanding features of his beautiful character was his Humility. He wouldn't try to shove his views down your throat, or ridicule you, (unlike some senior members on this forum), he would patiently listen to your point of view, and then give you his opinion. This despite holding one of the most powerful positions in the country. A true Gentlemen in every sense. Each time I met him, I left with a new level of respect for him.

There is no doubt that Pakistan has lost a true patriot, a true son of the soil, may Allah produce thousands more like him. May Allah make my children like him.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, and grant him the highest place in Jannah.

Ameen ya Rabul Alameen

no doubt about the similarities, but one thing is that Romel was involved in a conspiracy, Gul was not (as far as i know).

but if there indeed exists something, it will come out after several years

We are not sure weather Rommel was involved in conspiracy or not but we are sure that his views were quite different from mainstream government and choosed honorable silent death instead of disgrace.
Death before disgrace is the old military tradition.
