For the last 23 years India has made several attempts to locate and bring back Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld don who is the mastermind of the 1993 Bombay blasts which killed 257 people.
India has tried to reason with Pakistan that Dawood is living in Karachi with his family in the posh Clifton neighborhood with the full knowledge of locals as well as Pakistani administration officials.
India has even provided multiple dossiers to Pakistan in this regard. But the response from the other side has always been denial.
Now, for the first time, Pakistan’s lie on Dawood has been exposed, with CNN-News18's sting operators managing to track down the terror don's bungalow. The address is D 13, Block 4, Clifton, Karachi.
The video of the sting operation showed top-angle shots of the house, which is flanked by a cricket stadium on one side and the Clifton Marquee, a popular wedding & banquet hall on the other.
During a five-minute bike ride covering roughly half a kilometer radius, the sting operators interviewed locals as well as Dawood's own security guards. Everyone they came across seemed to know where he lives; it's almost like an open secret in this posh up-market locality of Karachi.

The sting operators pretended they were looking for a contractor who, they said, worked at Dawood's bungalow and owed them money.
The first one they spoke to was a security guard at a bungalow nearby. Here's how that conversation went:
News18: Where is Dawood Ibrahim's bungalow?
A: It's close by.
News18: Is there some contract work happening there..some cement work?
A: That I don't know.
The next person they met was an Afghan refugee who is working as a caretaker, who replied in Pashto: "Dawood's House is not on this street. It is at the rear of this street. You can go there. There is a mosque, you will see the dome of the mosque. Next to the mosque is Dawood's house. There is no gate. It is barricaded. You can go there and ask."
The third person they recorded, showed them the way to Dawood's house - D-13 Block 4, Karachi development Authority, Clifton Karachi. It was barricaded and the guards outside did not deny it is the Don’s Bungalow.
News18:. Janab kya haal hain, khairiyat hain? Is this Dawood Ibrahim's bungalow?
Guard1: Khairiyat hain.
Guard2: Who do you want to meet.
News18: Sir, there is a contractor here who works here. He works inside Dawood Ibrahim's bungalow. He has borrowed money from us.
Guard: What is the name of the contractor?
News18: Lateef.
Guard2: There is no Lateef contractor here. There is no contractor inside here. There is no work going on. All work is on hold.
News18: No he is working now in Dawood Ibrahim's bungalow.
Guard1: So what are you making this movie for?
Dawood’s bungalow is surrounded on two sides by empty, vacant plots of land, much like Osama’s compound in Abbottabad. The compound also has three-metre high walls, barricades leading up to the entrance and private security guards manning it 24x7. The don has even managed to build a mosque inside his compound.

Shortly after CNN-News18 aired a sting video revealing Dawood Ibrahim's residence in Karachi, his aide Chhota Shakeel dared India to catch the terror don. "Why are you not catching him? This is what you want to hear, right? If that man is who you say it is, then go catch him," Shakeel said over the phone.
Dawood Ibrahim is not stupid. It is not so easy to get him, like you are saying that the guard, some old man or kids know he stays there. This is all nonsense, he said adding that the underworld don has 300 commandos guarding him.
Shakeel's retort came after CNN-News18 aired a sting video which showed that all people in the Clifton neighbourhood of Karachi knows that Dawood stays in a house there - a fact Pakistan has been denying all these years.
He said there are many people by the name of Dawood Ibrahim in Karachi and that the people caught on tape were not referring to the don.
Since the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts – masterminded by Dawood - Pakistan has been in denial over his presence in Karachi. Despite several evidences by the Indian government, Pakistan has never accepted that the fugitive is staying in Clifton Road.
