Crown prince invites PM Imran to visit Saudi Arabia

Sorry buddy.. all I see now in your post is half-cooked stuff..

Since I did not know what I was talking about. :)

Keep watching these numbers, by the end of the year, the entire situation would unfurl.

China will receive another large influx of cheap Iranian oil in March passed off as crude from other origins, curbing the top importer’s appetite for crudes from other suppliers, according to traders and analysts.

Close to 1 million barrels per day of Iranian crude could arrive at China this month, nearly half the volume that the world’s top exporter Saudi Arabia supplied to China in the first two months this year.

Discussing geopolitical changes with folks who have no idea about the real world, is so much fun. =)

Regardless, there are two deals you should be keeping an eye on, Russian investment into OGDC and Chinese investment into setting up petrochemical plants and storage facilities down in Gwadar. And this will not be a pipe-dream like the KSA offer has proven to be as yet. As with other things, I do not anticipate Pakistan to willingly go with the Chinese plan, but that its hand will be forced for the lack of any counter-offer from other sources.

Again.. what do I know. #energy =(

How did the ottoman empire end? What good did ottoman empire provide Pakistan? Nothing, Pakistan is still in poverty just more slave workers and terrorists. Pakistan gets nothing from its relationship with the muslim world, it needs to be recalibrated.

I am all for friendships and brotherhood and if faith unites then so be it but when they are one sided and all Pakistan does is run around celebrating other countries achievements and history and gets nothing back then that is toxicity at its finest.

Look at the five eyes, now that is collaboration and a relationship based on trust and trade. This is the aim, not flipflopping monarchies and despots looking for the next batch of slave workers, enough already.

you are absolutely right
but one need to think why we always look at others, cross the border towards any side and everybody is others.
we always chant slogans of brotherhood and friendship, had we grew enough to learn this is all business and geopolitics.
we ourselves are rotten at the bottom and keeping general public fool with those slogans we have given them of brotherhood, Ummah and what not.
had sanity prevail and people could understand the deceits we exchanged in return for our love and affection.
ruling elite is the menace

Arrangements of the visit to the kingdom are being finalised

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to pay a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia by the second week of May, it has emerged on Thursday.

The premier, during the visit, will meet Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, diplomatic sources say. They further said that the arrangements of the visit to the kingdom are being finalised.

The visit highlights a thaw in ties between the two countries marred by differences over certain regional issues.

In March, Muhammad bin Salman invited PM to visit Saudi Arabia in a development that suggested easing of tensions between the two countries.

Last year, on the direction of PM Imran, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had undertaken a visit to Tehran and Riyadh.

On Wednesday, PM Imran welcomed Saudi Arabia's "initiative for peace with Iran" after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sought "good" relations with Tehran.

"We welcome the KSA initiative for peace with Iran. Iran is our neighbour and KSA our closest friend. This peace initiative will strengthen the Muslim Ummah."

Ties between Riyadh and Islamabad apparently soured because of differences on certain regional issues. The tensions had compelled Pakistan to return $3 billion to Saudi Arabia despite facing tough economic situation.

The $3 billion loan was part of the $6 billion financial bailout package Saudi Arabia had extended to Pakistan after Prime Minister Imran took charge. But now, the two sides appear to have overcome their differences leading to visit by Imran to the kingdom at the request of Saudi crown prince.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has accepted an invitation to visit Saudi Arabia from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman who called him on Monday.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan received a telephone call today from the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman,” the PM House said in a statement.

The crown prince inquired about the prime minister’s health and wished him speedy recovery. Premier Imran has tested positive for Covid-19, the deadly viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus.

“The crown prince invited the prime minister to undertake a visit to Saudi Arabia in the near future. The prime minister graciously accepted the invitation,” reads the statement.

It added that the prime minister and the crown prince agreed to work together to further augment bilateral ties in all spheres. They also reaffirmed the resolve to further strengthening the strong and longstanding Pakistan-Saudi Arabia fraternal ties.

Premier Imran also inquired about the well-being of the crown prince who recently had had a surgical procedure.

He lauded the transformational “Green Saudi Initiative” and the “Green Middle East initiative” recently announced by the crown prince. He also highlighted Pakistan’s “10 billion Tree Tsunami” initiative, which is under way in the whole country, and its potential dividends to restore ecosystem and to combat climate change.

While highlighting the complementarities between both countries’ environmental initiatives, the prime minister hoped for enhanced bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing in this field.

Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed warm wishes for the custodian of the two holy mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen amiable and fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

PM Imran set to visit Saudi Arabia next month

game starts now, it is always a give and take MBS must know. PM IK will discuss improving relations between the two rivals, after MBS statement, which will not be taken in good books by US until MBS is pushed towards some plan favoring US.

US is willing bases established around Afghanistan before exit, but it is more towards Iran and to keep presence in the region.

it may be a dangerous move at the hands of foreign powers.

. .
Yes we might be able to do without them, we might be able to survive without US, we might be able to do without china but it doesn't mean we should or must do without them. The game is to build, not survive.
They been playing too much recently man ... like giving the loan then pulling out ... hot and cold shit. Like man up Saudi!

Their Prince is desperate for allies. He’a so old news even the US declared he murdered Kashoggi.

Haven't you been playing hot and cold with saudis from the beginning on the iran issue? Why cry when someone does the exact same to you that you've been doing to them?.
If he's desperate for allies then pak should support him, we also are desperate for allies.

. . .
Everytime Imran Khan goes to Saudia Arabia or uses one of MBS's planes - i do fear for Imran Khan and his personal safety. Why is that ?? Am I alone in this?
If they try anything with him Pakistan can cripple Saudi Arabia's entire incompetent military within hours. Maybe Iran will join the party as well.
