Count Down begins for Arrival of the 100th JF17 Thunder

1.Its precursor A-50U is battle tested in Syria.

2. Range of 600+ km. With Network Centric usage, it's utility will increase exponentially.

3. Combines radar with EW. It will be a better jammer because it's large size means more available power.

With 6 Erieyes coverage is no issue for Pakistan. I will bet on Swedish systems in terms of EW rather than Russian ones. The Erieye is specifically geared towards netcentric warfare. Not to mention easy to maintain jets.

In my view, Erieye plus JF-17 Block III will be a deadly combo of all the information we are hearing about the Block IIIs are correct. No need to waste money on A-100

I am thinking of Rafale here. It is closer in capabilities to F-22 than any other platform, although it is definitely NOT F-22. We absolutely need A-100. Period.

Yes for that we really needs to know what PAF think-tank wants. Some of the possibilities are:

1) New platform, ideally 2-3 squads since induction of new F16s highly unlikely and than directly goes to point 3
2) Focus on JF-17 block 3 production and perhaps wait for J-31s to get fully developed - 5 years from now
3) Build a new 5th Generation plane incorporation with either Turkey or China - 10-12 years assignment for first prototype

The crucial thing you forget is Network Centric Warfare. It does amazing things for a fighter.

Trying to educate someone that comes with a mindset to talk irrelevant yet to vent frustration and act is specialist. No one bets that JF-17 is world beater (funny term though) but still, a call center Air Marshal has to say just to have a good day and that's all.

I engage him in the hope that one day he will look beyond his bias. To be honest he now behaves much better than in the past. I'll try to keep working on him.

yeah ideally it should be point 1..but unfortunately PAF is the only self imposed defensive air force in the world... i don't know when paf will come out of these self imposed shackles n behave like a true offensive air power..bcoz that's the only role a modern air force has in today's world

No that's the expected serial number of the 100th JF-17. The production rate is still 16-24 per year depending on exports, funds, induction pace, etc

50 per year ??? That is actually production number/number of birds. 2018 is referred as expected year of production.
