What nonsense, wars like yemen are bread and butter for American Defence Industry Complex.

While the Saudis are talking to Pakistan in case of JV's on the JFT and how to align with the Chinese to create another arms tier that won't restrict their military's ability to function.

Well US and KSA will improve their relationship, they have to under yet another republican rule. Republicans just love war, their philosophy has always been to treat US as a war economy i.e. an economy that thrives on business and economic activity created by global conflicts. Wait for a year and a half and see trump jumping into Yamen and Syria more openly than Obama. Middle eastern markets for weapons is 100s of billion dollars strong, soon LM, Rythone, Boeing and name it will start raising the alarm bells that The business that used to be ours, is going to Europeans and will make trump go the way a of a typical Republican president.You can't change the animal instinct.

Obviously you guys didn't read my post carefully, it was limited to the KSA and the US. The US won't have a great relationship with the KSA anymore, just like I explained above. The rest of the ME, like Turkey, UAE, Iraq, the US will have a good, friendly relationship with them including selling arms. But the US won't be selling advance arms to KSA. In fact, some I know, go as far as saying that outside of spares, there may be a total ban on selling offensive weapons to KSA.

We all have seen how democratic struggles of common people are treated by democratic Iran.

JV on F-17 is no news. Saudis had been waiting for the departure of Asif Ali Zardari.
KSA has drifted from US suppliers is also an old news.
However, not so long ago some big bosses of top US arms suppliers were visiting KSA... i think this hints if its US who is not supplying or is it KSA who is not buying.

JV on F-17 is no news. Saudis had been waiting for the departure of Asif Ali Zardari. KSA has drifted from US suppliers is also an old news.
However, not so long ago some big bosses of top US arms suppliers were visiting KSA... i think this hints if its US who is not supplying or is it KSA who is not buying.

you clearly don't read news do you? Extrapolating your own meaning out of stuff doesn't mean its the reality. The US administration has stopped selling KSA all offensive munitions, including the Precision Guided kits. In fact, the recent Pentagon statement called the KSA a "Paper Military".

Some suppliers have even called the KSA pilots the worst to use advance weapons and result in massive civilian casualties, which are against the purpose of using precision weapons. In general, the US administration is going away from KSA. The president-elect has already told them "no Saudi oil anymore". You should do your research before extracting meaning that serve yourself. KSA's military is 85% US products. They, with their failing economy are in no position to tell anyone that they want to scrap their platforms. I can only see Spares going to KSA for the next 8 years at least.

Pakistan settled for "Wheat and Oil". If you had a real economy and were a growing country like right now, I am sure you'd have a right to do so. But remember, your system and economy was nowhere close to a place where there was a respectful view of Pakistan (sorry, its a fact). Now times have changed and Pakistan is growing economy wise and can do business with every country. Naturally, that would get you one of the top spots on the ladder of bigger countries overtime and you will have leverage to do a lot of stuff you couldn't do before.

Which is one of the main reason I've said it, no matter what, there should be a civilian system running with accountability to grow your country like it is happening right now. That way, your global influence continues. A system is the most critical thing for Pakistan.

Do you actually read what someone says before responding? This is the second time I am telling you that. Go re-read my posts again to gain full comprehension before just silly replying to something you haven't understood.

I said the KSA won't get offensive weapons. It is a restriction put forth by the US government. There is nothing any defense contractor could do when something is restricted by the US government. If that wasn't the case, the Chinese would be flying and building Boeing 787 Dream-liners through TOT themselves. But the US government put heavy fines on Boeing like two decades ago for sharing basic yet sensitive tech with them.

Lastly, no one's saying that the US and KSA will become enemies. The US would probably always supply spares, etc, for all platforms that the Saudi's operate (F-15's, AWACS, etc, etc) and other non-offensive products. So naturally, these will come from the US defense contractors and therefore you'll find their presence in KSA.

Yemen is not more respectable than Pakistan, at any given point in time. I think, no amount of setteling can replace orignal money or product, but again this is my PoV.

I don't know why you'd compare Yemen with Pakistan. Pakistan has fought two wars alongside with the US (albeit love-hate relationship), so naturally, Pakistan's relationship will always be better than Yemen. However, Yemen, in term of KSA and human rights, will have voice, specially in Obama's time as he signed the deal with Iran. And the fact that there is now official open dislike for KSA (in both Democrat and Rep circles). KSA's entire economy is out in shambles and the US has told them we don't need Saudi oil. So add two plus two. If you can't, perhaps, no need to respond to my post and even on threads with such sensitive topics? There are threads here about Cars, Roads and Politics too

I consider both of them as different faces of the same coin. No one has the right to rule people without their consent. Dictatorship is the worst thing happened to Islam, whether these are Sunni Dictatorships or Shia. Please don't take everything as Sunni, Shia issue.
