COAS & Secretary of State simultaneously in Saudia

So what was important people at top US defence firms doing in KSA?.

Here you go, this was just posted. @SBD-3 @Musketeeer @Game.Invade @ISI. :

KSA had threatened that they would remove their investments from the US if the law on suing the KSA is passed. Well, the law was passed and Trump had made a comment that even if the KSA draws money out, the $ 600 billion wasn't something that a big American businessman can't fill the gap in for. He also told KSA that the US wouldn't need oil from them. Then, came the restriction of selling them the offensive weapons. And this was just posted a few minutes ago. As you can see, KSA is in a pretty bad shape in terms of having influence in the US and the relationships like before.

When they talk about offensive weapons they are lying big time , the only restrictions are for guidance systems for dumb bomb, the UK is willing to supply the Saudis with that and much more.. as for Oil, it is a very complicated matter, OPEC almost killed the Oil Shale production in the US and took back their market share up to 42% in the last 2 years after losing 40% before 2 years.. with Trump there might be an all out economic war led by the US, not only against OPEC, but China and Russia too, he will first have to convince the Europeans who depend much on OPEC and Natural gas imports.
There is the 600 billion$ Saudi investments in the US but there is also a 3 trillion$ Chinese investments, plus all the GCC investments that will mount to a few trillion$ too, So it is a very farfetched assumption that he or other wealthy American business men can deal with that..

Do you actually read what someone says before responding? This is the second time I am telling you that. Go re-read my posts again to gain full comprehension before just silly replying to something you haven't understood.

I said the KSA won't get offensive weapons. It is a restriction put forth by the US government. There is nothing any defense contractor could do when something is restricted by the US government. If that wasn't the case, the Chinese would be flying and building Boeing 787 Dream-liners through TOT themselves. But the US government put heavy fines on Boeing like two decades ago for sharing basic yet sensitive tech with them.

Lastly, no one's saying that the US and KSA will become enemies. The US would probably always supply spares, etc, for all platforms that the Saudi's operate (F-15's, AWACS, etc, etc) and other non-offensive products. So naturally, these will come from the US defense contractors and therefore you'll find their presence in KSA.

I don't know why you'd compare Yemen with Pakistan. Pakistan has fought two wars alongside with the US (albeit love-hate relationship), so naturally, Pakistan's relationship will always be better than Yemen. However, Yemen, in term of KSA and human rights, will have voice, specially in Obama's time as he signed the deal with Iran. And the fact that there is now official open dislike for KSA (in both Democrat and Rep circles). KSA's entire economy is out in shambles and the US has told them we don't need Saudi oil. So add two plus two. If you can't, perhaps, no need to respond to my post and even on threads with such sensitive topics? There are threads here about Cars, Roads and Politics too :enjoy:
You are making your own news buddy, the US government has put restriction on guidance systems for dumb bombs, but you are adamant it is for all offensive weapons!? KSA just got some brand new F-15SA delivered, got contracts for very sophisticated ships and many other offensive as well as defensive weapons, Major US companies are working with the GCC on an integrated air defense system, including the most advanced US radars and missiles, F-15QA, F-18 advanced and so many more.. there are threads on this forum about everything I've just mentioned, why don't you go educate yourself before posting crap from your own mind?

Standard PDF response? If its against your perception "its a lie". Do you have Mr. Obama's, a Senator / Congressman or the Sec. of State's, or someone from the Pentagon's email or a publication to show as a proof that its a lie, or someone from the KSA's foreign ministry or a credible source like the BBC or the CNN? Outside of that, all else is a lie fabricated by people who don't have the expertise, or real knowledge, but like to comment on stuff like they are the chief defense analyst for something like Brookings.

As for Oil, it is a very complicated matter, OPEC almost killed the Oil Shale production in the US and took back their market share up to 42% in the last 2 years after losing 40% before 2 years.. with Trump there might be an all out economic war led by the US, not only against OPEC, but China and Russia too,

You have no idea about what you are typing above do you? This has nothing to do with the US or the Shale Oil industry . The issue is Russia, Iran, KSA, Venezuela and other OPEC members. If you don't understand an issue, or know its complexities involved, don't just throw everything on the US. Learn the issue first. Here are a few links for you, so you may come up to speed on this Oil issue. This is unbelievable! You are speaking with so much authority without having any clue about these issues. Only on PDF you find these internet analysts.

The following links talk about a couple of recent land mark OPEC deals. None of these developments have anything to do with the US. We have one of the largest Oil reserves we never cared to use, which we are using now (Shale is our backup after like 200 years of Crude Oil extraction from the American soil :usflag:). These OPEC deals mean lots of more loss for KSA but overall beneficial for the rest of OPEC. Otherwise, these people would start to go bankrupt like KSA first, and then others:

The following is regarding November 30, 2016, where the OPEC countries finally decided to do another deal to freeze / cut oil production:

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-oil-prices-poll-idUSKBN13X146

The following was about October, the beginning of a new era in OPEN, where Saudi domination had come to an end as Russia and Iran are now two of the biggest players offsetting KSA's influence:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...winner-signs-landmark-oil-investment-contract

The following was from October, 2016, the first time a deal was announced between the OPEC countries, the discussions had been going on for over a year and KSA and a few other Arab countries were losing their shirts selling their oil so cheap, resulting in the current recession in the Middle East:

Now, this is today's market (morning time in Asia already and the markets started a while ago):

he will first have to convince the Europeans who depend much on OPEC and Natural gas imports.

 Read the above links. This has nothing to do with American. The Europeans are already enjoying cheaper oil and they don't need the Shale :disagree:. Also, Chinese investment isn't $ 3 trillion either . We had a loan from them of $ 1 trillion and majority of that's been paid off.

At this time, the largest investor in the US is Japan. Also, KSA and Chinese don't have anything in common and they are not linked. So not sure why even relate KSA to China above? Stay focused on the KSA please. Adding others doesn't help the argument.

Next, the US economic system is over $ 90 trillion dollars. I think it can take a shock of $ 3-4 Trillion if we "REALLY" needed to do something. The US stock market system is around $ 30 Trillion!

On KSA's 600 billion, that shiit is a piece of joke. Warren Buffet (personal net worth $ 88 billion, his company has over $ 1.55 Trillion assets) or Bill Gates (over $ 100 billion personal net worth, with Microsoft's size around $ 500 billion add Google like $ 600 billion, we are already over a trillion).

So we can put $ 600 billion between these three companies back into buying whatever the Saudi's want to sell :enjoy:, without even breaking a sweat! So Mr. Trump is right to tell KSA that "take your money" (but leave the taxes and fees behind when you do that). We made you richer and richer, so you have the right to take your money back. By the way, cashing out these investments might impose 20% tax like the rest of the globe pays to make so much more. So $ 600 billion - $ 120 billion in taxes, not adding fees, charges to sell, etc, means $ 450 billion cash sent to KSA? Remember, these guys have made profits already worth a couple of Trillions over the past 30 years of investing in America. Only American can give you such a massive return on your money :enjoy: :usflag:

Like I said, it is pretty obvious you have no clue on any of the stuff that you wrote, but you "decided" to write this stuff as a PDF internet warrior so please spare me from more pain, its pretty bad reading your post already.

You are making your own news buddy, the US government has put restriction on guidance systems for dumb bombs, but you are adamant it is for all offensive weapons!? 1: By reading other explanations provided above, if you still think I am making this news up, I feel sorry for you. You should continue to impress other 16 year old youth members on here :enjoy:

2: F-15's SA were being delivered for a while now. The contract wasn't signed after the Yemen war, nor will the US going to put sanctions on KSA. Offensive weapons going forward means going forward, not what two nations agreed to sell or buy in the past and its already paid for. This is business, you got to respect your customer and the contract.

Also, like I said, KSA isn't an adversary to the US, so deals and stuff will still take place. But not the guided bombs, longer range ATG missiles, etc, used for offenses inside others lands (like Yemen). That's been made pretty clear. A ship and a jet aren't offensive, unless the associated guided and unguided munitions are attached to their hardpoints. KSA's ships aren't offensive weapons either due to their tiny Navy and associated dynamics.

Saudi official denies reports US has decided to restrict military support

At press conference with John Kerry, Saudi foreign minister says leaked news ‘contradicts reality’ as Kerry downplays reported delay in US weapons supplies

The Saudi foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, on Sunday denied media reports that the US has decided to limit military support, including a planned arms sale, to the kingdom.

US officials have said Washington decided to curb backing for Saudi Arabia’s campaign in Yemen, including halting the supply of some precision-guided munitions, because of concerns over widespread civilian casualties.

Yemen’s 20-month-old war has killed more than 10,000 people and triggered humanitarian crises, including chronic food shortages, in the poorest country in the Arabian peninsula.

Jubeir told a joint news conference with the visiting US secretary of state, John Kerry: “This news that has been leaked contradicts reality. The reality is that converting regular bombs to smart bombs would be welcome because smart bombs are more accurate.

In answer to a question on reported delays of US weapons supplies, he said: “The kingdom has received nothing official from the American government in this regard.”

Kerry appeared to downplay the reports of delays, suggesting procurement was often a slow process and adding he had worked hard to move sales “forward”.

Kerry also met King Salman and others on Sunday, on a visit to the kingdom that will probably be his last as the top US diplomat. Ties between the US and Saudi Arabia have also been strained by the Iran nuclear deal.

The war in Yemen began in September 2014 when Houthi Shia rebels and their allies seized the capital, Sana’a, expelling the government of President Abed-Rabbo Mansour Hadi. A Saudi-led coalition of mostly Gulf Arab nations launched a campaign in March 2015, against the Iran-backed rebels.

The coalition has launched thousands of airstrikes. Saudi Arabia has been subject to cross-border raids and missile attacks.

Extremist groups have flourished in the war-torn state. The local affiliate of the Islamic State group claimed a suicide bombing on Sunday in the southern port city of Aden, in which at least 48 soldiers who were lined up to receive their pay were killed.

“In turbulent times, it’s good to have solid friends,” Kerry said on Sunday. “That’s why the United States’ partnership with Saudi Arabia is rightly so valuable.”

Kerry earlier joined diplomats from Britain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates to speak with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the United Nations special envoy to Yemen. The UAE is part of the Saudi-led coalition. Oman has served as an interlocutor with the Houthis.

On Twitter, the British Middle East minister, Tobias Ellwood, said the meeting discussed a political process to end Yemen’s war, which he called “the only way to bring peace”.

Kerry said he hoped to have parties involved “within two weeks” to agree to terms set out by the United Nations. But he and al-Jubeir did not say how that would be accomplished. The UN has proposed sidelining the Saudi-backed president, Hadi, and giving the rebels a share of power, concessions the kingdom strongly opposes.

“You can see from the humanitarian situation, which is dire and deteriorating rapidly, that it is urgent that we try to bring this war to a close,” Kerry said. “But we also need to bring it to a close in a way that protects the security of Saudi Arabia.”

The UN estimates that at least 4,125 civilians have been killed since airstrikes began. Saudi-led airstrikes were responsible for 60% of civilian deaths over a year-long span starting in July 2015, according to a UN report.
