HIT "Longjiang No.2" independently completed the moon flight
The moon image sent back by "Longjiang II" (the crescent moon is Earth).

The long-wave astronomical observation microsatellite "Longjiang No. 2" independently developed by the Harbin Institute of Technology has entered the orbit of the moon, and the loaded Saudi camera and other loads are all in normal operation. On June 14, China and Saudi Arabia jointly released the moon images taken by Saudi cameras.

At 5 o'clock on May 21, 2018, two moon orbit ultra long wave astronomical observation microsatellites launched along with the Chang'e 4 mission "Shuqiao" relay star were successfully launched at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. After 113 hours of flight, the brakes in recent months were successfully implemented at 22 o'clock on May 25th. The "Longjiang 2" microsatellite entered the orbit of the lunar orbit at a point of 350 kilometers in the nearest month and 13,700 kilometers in the far month. HIT became the first university in the world to send micro-small spacecraft to the moon orbit.

The two microsatellites participating in this scientific experiment have a mass of only 47 kilograms on the "Longjiang No. 1" and "Longjiang No. 2" single stars, and are the preferred protection for payloads and propellants. The propulsion system, the star-and-arrow separation structure, and the antenna structure are all Adopt a new design. "Longjiang No. 1" had a control anomaly in the course of ground-month transfer orbital flight. It did not enter the lunar orbit, and "Longjiang No. 2" smoothly entered the orbit of the moon, becoming the world's first independent land-month transfer, near-month braking, A microsatellite flying around the moon.

The "Longjiang 2" microsatellite is equipped with a low-frequency radiodetector developed by the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a lunar small optical imaging detector (optical camera) developed by the King Abdullah Aziz Technology City of Saudi Arabia. Scientific loading. On May 26, the low-frequency radio detector was turned on for the first time, began to detect 1–30 MHz of spectral information, and carried out full-sky radiation spectrum tests and scientific research. On May 28, the Saudi optical camera was turned on for the first time and successfully captured visible light images on the moon's surface.
