Vietnam has a ridiculously low military budget (because of its tiny economy of $103 billion) and it would be easily defeated by the weakest of the three ethnic-Chinese navies. Vietnam cannot wrest control of the South China Sea islands and territory from 1,400 years of Chinese dominion.

Unless the U.S. is claiming it has ownership of the South China Sea, its presence is irrelevant. Once the shooting starts, the U.S. will vacate.

China will not permit the U.S. to steal its sovereign 1,400-year-old territory. If necessary, China will authorize tactical nuclear weapons. Let's see if the U.S. is willing to risk global thermonuclear war over 1,400-year-old Chinese islands on the Philippine's behalf. This is patently silly. The Philippines has only one WW II-era warship. The Vietnamese navy isn't much better. Both countries will get slaughtered on the high seas at the end of Chinese naval guns, anti-ship missiles, or heavyweight torpedoes.

I think you're the only one on this forum who thinks the Vietnamese will give the Chinese military a run for their money. I'm pretty sure no one agrees with your delusional belief.

China will destroy your airfields and handful of planes. It's called establishing air superiority and control of the skies. Your Vietnamese airforce won't exist for more than a few hours after war starts.

When the world's second-largest military fights the world's 52nd-ranked military, the Vietnamese will be lucky if they can hold on for more than a few days.

We do have loss at the war with VN. However, we did make sure for every Chinese soldier fallen, many more VNese went to hell.

1. China also left lots of dead body after the war with VN boder guard, so why must we use the regular force ??^^

btw: as I know, when USSR helped us to transport the regular forces, China withdrawed already.^^
