C mo'n people....lets not spoil the mood of others by indulging in things we are not confirmed about......But even the modified ZDK-03 will not cost as much as Saab 2000 mounted erieye. Look at even JFT, which is costing PAF around 8-10 Million and thats not the cost which will be paid by PLAAF which if, decides to induct JFT, will have to pay the market price as the project was funded by PAF and CAC's private funding. The cost may be lower if PAF would have contributed towards the development of the airframe as Usman Shabbir of Pakdef noted that a team of Pakistani engneers was in China working on the project and China was helping Pakistan setting up infrastructure of R&D. This may also be a factor for lower price (but this is again my personal inference, open for discussion)

One thing which is really bothering me is why did China refuse to sell the more advance KJ-200 to Pakistan? Does this indicate a shift in their policy towards Pakistan?
Normally what ever we buy from the Chinese is specifically tailored to meet the requirements of the PAF and that usually turns out to be more advance then what the Chinese are using but in this case its actually inferior.
Anyways how is this machine comparable to the SAAB?

Based on the article posted on page 8 and 9. And i did not mention radar, my only point was why was KJ-200 declined to Pakistan?

Sir, can you be more specific about which article are you talking as i did not saw any article saying anything like that.

Help out if possible to that specific part which you are talking about.

All i could see was one member, saying it, that KJ-200 was not being given for export, nothing official to back it up, rather it was his speculation that this may be the reason.

Well, since flyinghawkwings has been suspended for his trolling and imposition of his version onto us without proof, but for his satisfaction which he may be able to read even though he is suspended, here is a section of an article from Richard Fisher, where the author directly quotes the Ex-CAF of PAF, that we are gonna acquire 04 ZDK-03 platforms for about 100Mln $$s, thus hopefully the suspended members is now at ease that we are not buying the system for 70Mln a piece but for 100Mln $$ a piece.

And now this is called a good proof, an article by someone known among the defence circles, quoting directly the PAF CAS for the figures and the cost too.

Well that's good analysis, but can you post the pictures of both the dishes that you have analyzed, so that we can have a better view of it.

The Pakistan Air Force has received its first Chinese-built ZDK-03 AWACS aircraft.

November 15: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) received its first Chinese-built ZDK-03 Advanced Warning & Control Systems (AWACS) aircraft on November 13 at a ceremony at Hanzhong in China attended by Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff for the PAF.

CETC of China is building four aircraft for the PAF from a $278 million (€204 million) contract signed in 2008. The ZDK-03 is a variant of the Shaanxi Y-8, itself a derivative of the Soviet-designed Antonov An-12 transport aircraft and has a Chinese Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, reported to have a greater range than that of the PAF's Saab 2000 Erieye system.
